Very nice city with beautiful buildings in the historic center and Getsemani, which are very lively. Therefore it can be very noisy due to loud music. Lots of street vendors, street artists, shops, bars, restaurants. Great to walk around and experience the caribbean atmosphere!

Cartagena de Indias is a city rich in history and vibrant culture. The colonial architecture and colorful streets are a feast for the eyes. However, I found the city to be extremely hot, which made daytime exploring quite exhausting. There are also a lot of street vendors, which can be overwhelming at times. The nights were quite noisy, especially in the bustling areas, which made it difficult to relax. On a positive note, a visit to Baru Island was a highlight of the trip. The island offers beautiful beaches and a more tranquil atmosphere, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Overall, Cartagena has its charms but comes with a few drawbacks that travelers should be prepared for.

This is one of my fav places in the world to visit but, unfortunately, sex tourism is becoming a big problem in Cartagena. As long as there is no control of the "demand", the supply will be there. It is about time this gets fixed. Some hotels do their part but the problem is bigger than one thinks. It is almost out of control. There are also places I would not dare to visit unless I am accompanied by several friends.
