We stayed in the King Suite which had a balcony. The hotel has access to the beach which is nice. I only used the pool on the last day which was lovely as well.

Coral Azul Playa Blanca, Sofitel Barú Calablanca, and Hyatt Regency Cartagena got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Cartagena de Indias.
Cartagena is a city rich in history...spectacular in many ways but be forewarned: it is like New Orleans on Steroids.....hot humid and muggy. Hawkers everywhere who won't give you a moment's peace constantly badgering you. Additionally, there are quite a few migrants from Venezuela who are begging for money....you can only help so many people out.......that said, the Old City has tons of great eateries at about half the price you would pay here in LaLa land (my home)....la Popa is a great visit to the highest point in the city where you can enjoy some spectacular views....the Castillo de San Felipe is equally worth a visit. Bring some Coppertone 30 plus and some OFF....the mosquitos can really be irritating ...the old hotels are very well restored but be prepared for a lack of elevators.
It I a beautiful place bursting with culture. There is something to do for all ages. I love fine dining and there were plenty of excellent restaurants with awesome food for all budgets. The people are beautiful and nice. I didn't see a lot of people wearing jewelry, and although cabs are easily accessible, more times than not, it is easier to walk to your location, especially within the wall city. Take the Five Island Tour with John Wayne and Jonas for snorkeling, partying, private beach excursion, lunch on a public beach, and tour of a fort- excellent time! Also, for great live music and dancing, visit Havana Club. Also, if you live art, you will be in art haven. There are so many artists selling on the street, you could spend an entire day just looking at and buying art. I stayed 3 and half days and that was the right amount of time.
The history of the walled city and the historic buildings in it; the Getsemani neighborhood with its colorful umbrellas and flags and wall art, castillo san felipe… and that is just a part of Cartagena I got see.. one should be mindful of the prices of taxi drivers; it varies a lot… one should ask for the price bedore entering the taxi… i would recommend doing the city tour hop on and off (red double decker) especially with the walking tour of the old city; castillo de san felipe can be included in the ticket price for an additional fee..
The hotel was beautiful and the staff pleasant. Most don’t speak English and unfortunately I only speak English. The hotel was under construction which we didn’t know so that was a bummer. Not other rooms had beautiful views. The rooftop bar and pool are super pretty. Bring a hairdryer as they don’t have any and there were limited towels. It is in a great locational, walkable all around the walled city. We really enjoyed our stay there! We we’re there 4 days and 3 nights
Basically just shopping and places to eat. The beaches are okay. There are tours to go to pretty islands nearby as day tours. The art is the best part in my opinion. Definitely stayed for too long being here for two weeks. I love Colombia but do not plan on returning to Cartagena. The volcano tour was lovely.
We took an outstanding free walking tour of the Getsemaní neighborhood with Beyond Colombia. The guide was fun, entertaining and knowledgeable who spoke English well. We ate at several nice restaurants - La Mulata within la ciudad antigua which had nice seafood entries and a wonderful Coco Limonada non-alcoholic drink; Crepes & Waffles (in la ciudad antigua) was an excellent place for dinner (and dessert); Sierpe Cocina Caribe on Calle de la Sierpe in the Getsemaní neighborhood had tasty seafood and side dishes. Nice Colombian-made items can be found at La Trinidad Plaza (name of the store) which is near the Trinidad Plaza in the Getsemaní neighborhood. The San Felipe de Barajas “castle” fortress was worth the visit.
The hotel was in a excellent area at 10 minutes drive from the main area of Cartagena where all the bar, restaurants and clubs are and also like 10 minutes from the airport which is very convenient. It was also in from of Playa Marbella. The hotel was very clean and the customer service was excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to inform your about activities, places to go, etc. Also the pool area was nice to relax. They also have breakfast included which it was topical Colombian breakfast.
We wish we stayed here our entire time in Cartagena! It’s in a great location, plaza on the corner with lots of lively action and late night snacks. Salsa bars 2 blocks down. The host was incredible at responding to all of our questions and gave us a lot of recommendations. It’s a small, super simple hotel / room. It’s hot in Cartagena so for not really spending time in the room, but needing great coffee and a fantastic breakfast when you wake up, this is the spot. Highly recommend!
- The room is very good, with air conditioning and looking historical, - The beds are very comfy - Breakfast was fresh and delicious - The staff was extremely friendly and careful, also with the corona measures - The hotel is in right in the old city of Cartagena and full with life, it didn't matter hearing the music of the old town a little late in the night - Very good place to relax after spending hours in the chaotic and loud old town - The hotel looks good
Celebrity treatment! world-class service. The staff was amazing it made us feel like home. Very spacious suite and detailed oriented interior decor. Walking distance of all the areas in the vibrant old city. From location to facility to welcoming staff with big smiles in their faces whenever they see you! Its a hidden gem, which is the best boutique hotel from Cartagena no doubt.
Staff was really great (and all called "Rosa", notably Rosa Roja, Rosa Azul, Rosa Negra). The hotel also helped us out with coordinating the Covid-tests we required for our return trip home. The hotel is located in one of the cutest streets of the old city, and everything was at walking distance from the hotel. Great place to stay when visiting Cartagena!
The location is really good, close enough to the sites in Getsemani and the Old City without being on a ridiculously busy street. The beds were comfortable and the maid service cleaned regularly. The included breakfast was convenient. The hotel worked with us to coordinate with day trip companies we booked to pick us up directly from the hotel, which was great.
Fantastic staff. Could not be more obliging. Brilliant location around the corner from Plaza de la Trinidad with it's lovely atmosphere, especially in the evening and also 10 minutes walk from the main centre. Lovely room and breakfast. Very good value and booking.com's 9+ filter really does make a huge difference when selecting.
Our stay in Casa India Catalina was perfect! The location is fantastic, the colonial style building is impressive and it has everything is need it to spend a few days in Cartagena de Indias. The facilities and fourniture in the room are a bit old but functional. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is tasty.
The staff was extremely welcoming and nice! They offered help everytime I had questions. Plus the offered tours that helped me enjoy my short time in Cartagena as much as possible. Moreover, the location of the hotel is in the center of Getsemaní, which allowed me to walk everywhere in less than 10 minutes
Laguito, Cartagena de Indias
A good hotel like a Hilton needs to be, Big room with comfy beds. Good cleaning of the room. More than a good breakfast for Colombian standards. Friendly staff and clean hotel. Nice bar and restaurants and a really good pool, private beach, and pool bar with a lot of good food on the menu.
San Diego, Cartagena de Indias
Hotel within old city walls but a few minutes walking from the busy area thus much more quite during the night, breakfast with 3 great options on the rooftop of the hotel, clean room, shower with hot water, super friendly staff,... In summary the perfect stay for your trip in Cartagena
Laguito, Cartagena de Indias
The location is very good, It's next to the Hilton Hotel, one of the best locations around Cartagena de Indias. There is transportation from there buses and taxis, and its safe. I.ts close by from evere where and new buildings in the area
I've been traveling all of my life and living in Colombia several months each year since 2004. First time staying in the "old city" and it was a great experience. Try this hotel you'll like it.
The hotel is beautiful, tucked un the streets of the old city, close to many amenities but quiet as well. Beds are comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were helpful and friendly.
big pool for a hotel within the old city walls. big and clean rooms, extremely friendly staff
