This was by far the best experience I have ever had in Costa Rica. I traveled to 15 different locations over 6 months and this host family was the most generous and helpful family I have ever known. They brought me food all the time (fruit, meat, vegetables and snacks) and even gas at one point for my car. They even took me in their Jeep to see a sunset. The facility itself is clean and impeccably maintained. The house has everything you need to cook with. You hear howler monkeys in the trees across the street and chickens next door. The outdoor living area is perfect for larger groups or families. There is a convenience store a short walk away where you can find some basic staples including some meat and vegetables but it is really small (one room) so I would suggest if you come for more than a couple days that you bring groceries with you because the bigger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away. The best part is you are in the country surrounded by farmland. The yard is completely fenced in for dogs. I felt safe with a relative living next door. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful property overlooking the lake. Our cabin was spacious and immaculate, the host was very accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent (I recommend the Dutch pancakes). The location is very convenient as it's in between the Monteverde and La Fortuna areas, which make for great day trips. There are also very nice restaurants in close proximity (walk or short drive). I can't recommend it enough.

This is the perfect cabin right in the middle of nature and tranquility! The cabin had all the amenities one could need and perfect for cooking a great meal and enjoying right on the front deck in nature. Walking distance to some nice off road paths that lead you to beautiful views of Tiliran. The host Jessica only made the stay more amazing and was so helpful and knowledgeable with all things to do around. She even gave us a ride and some bananas for breakfast from the trees right outside the cabin window 😁

Appreciated the location as it is right off of main road so access was easy. The property was above the road, so road noise was not an issue. Spacious, clean rooms with private Adirondack chairs to enjoy fresh air and beautiful lake view. Building was situated well so that winds did not blow where Adirondack chairs sat so we could really enjoy the lake view any time of day. Kitchen and dining area also situated to optimize on lake view; including wrap around bar/desk with plenty of electrical outlets for working on the laptop (with a view). Kitchen was cozy and basic - had everything needed to cook breakfasts and dinner. Large washing machine and fast/efficient dryer was super helpful for us hikers with lots of dirty clothes. Host was beyond responsive and seemed to really care. Great value for the money!
