The staff or managers were amazing. Really loved the friendliness and nothing was too much trouble, from checkin, to bar to restaurant to breakfast to cleaning staff. We loved the location of the property a little out of town, but easy to walk in. Quiet and calm. Very customer oriented towards the guest. The large room had a lovely view over the Mosel from upstairs. The restaurant was really good food - Italian mainly but excellent servings and also a varied big breakfast of hot and cold items. The parking on site was gold.

The view was pretty good but we could not see the castle from the room but you could see it from the breakfast balcony. We liked being across the bridge, it seemed more peaceful but was close enough to walk over to find restaurants.

Cohem is a great small town if you are looking for a nice little spring break. You have a stunning view of the river and the castle on the top of the hill. Also, it works well as a base if you want to visit some other neighboring castles, like Eltz. You can taste some really good wine from the region or enjoy a boat cruise along the Moselle river.

We were here the first week of November, end of season, but...

We were here the first week of November, end of season, but were extremely lucky with the weather. We can only imagine how busy this place gets at the height of the season. The Autumn trees were spectacular, we experienced no traffic and it was great that the chairlift was still open 11-4. Cafe Flair on the riverfront is a must for trying traditional regional cakes and treats. We stayed 2 nights following 2 previous nights at Nürburgring. 2 nights in Cochem was enough for our 2 teenagers at this time of the year.

The old town is beautiful and lovely to wander in during the day. It's very quiet after about 6pm though, and bookings at restaurants are advised, especially in the summer and on weekends. Boat trips, castle tours, and the chairlift up to the Pinner Cross are highlights of a trip to Cochem.

We stayed in Cochem for 3 days to get over jet lag before our Rick Steves tour. Reichsburg Cochem is the castle owned by the town, and it's worth the walk, the views and tour of the castle, which are available in English or German. A lovely small town with character, lots of restaurants and shops. It's also easy to head up to Rick Steves' favorite castle Burg Elz, via short train to Moselkern or by ferry. The town is compact, so it was easy to catch a train to the start of our next tour.

Beautiful little town. A must see castle. The boat ride was disappointing. A recording in English with the town history would have been nice as this is a tourist attraction. So we found this a waste of money. Train stop close. Good wine! Restaurants close early for dinner.

A lovely town , compact and easy to get around.

A lovely town , compact and easy to get around. Lots to see and do and the local community are friendly. Be prepared for busy season with coach tours. We visited in early October and missed the crowds. The Hieronimi wine cellar ( not to be confused with the hotel of the same name), does an excellent 8 glass wine tasting. Incredibly informative and entertaining. The location is also great for days out by train access to other locations such as Koblenz.

This was a magnificent place, very easy walking to the Schloss as well as the centre of town in Cochem (25 mins walk) lovely along the river and if you want a diversion to the Schloss, add an additional walk up of 25 minutes, very worth it. The hotel had lovely staff, lovely rooms and the breakfast rooms were a delight looking over the Mosel. The breakfast was typical German, large and with plenty of choice. Restaurants in the area were easy access and had numerous choices especially in the centre.

Fabulous room, double aspect, with views of the castle on the hill and the river winding past. Lovely staff. Breakfast was extensive and varied with plenty of choice. Very pleasant terrace to sit on, overlooking the river, while quaffing a glass of wine. Short walk along the promenade into Cochem. We particularly enjoyed the Weingarten next door (nothing to do with the hotel), after a day's sightseeing. Car parking reserved for the hotel just by the entrance.

We loved this hotel. It is in the best location in Cochem, has wonderful staff and exceptionally clean. Parking is available at a nearby parking station. The views are wonderful and everything is at your doorstep. We liked it so much, we stayed an extra night. A big thank you to the very pleasant and helpful staff.
