Hotel in Old Town, Quedlinburg
Located in the heart of the Old Town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt, this historic, family-run hotel is a beautiful half-timbered building providing classically and tastefully furnished rooms. I had asked for a room on a lower floor and was given a room on the first floor. There is no elevator. Probably all rooms are different but we liked ours very much. Our room looked out upon the main street. We found our room to be quiet. The staff was courteous and helped get our luggage up to our room. The car parking may be a little hard to find but there were many spaces available. A generous breakfast was available. No restaurant for other meals at this time.

Hotel in Old Town, Quedlinburg
This family-run hotel in Quedlinburg town center offers country-style rooms and a large breakfast buffet. Set in the historic Market Square, it is a 10-minute walk from Quedlinburg Train Station. I don´t often give a "10" but on this short trip I found two hotels where I was happy to give it - and this one was certainly worth it in the short time I was there. (See Stade for the second) Parking is difficult but described in the pre-arrival email. Nevertheless, I required Herr Hecker´s help and he was polite and helpful. Later he was again helpful with information and the young women on reception were exceedingly helpful in the morning. 10 for the reception staff. I was exhausted after 5 hours driving and despite a restriction on table space (due to the ubiquitous staff shortage, and in this case staff illnesses) the waiting staff found me a table and a beer and later I was able to order a meal. Central location and a good restaurant with reasonable prices!! (Italy take note!) In addition Quedlinburg is a city you MUST visit. Unfortunately I was in transit but I will be back!! And back to the Bear if they will have me! Q is a very pretty, almost totally Medieval-style town. It is easy to imagine living in 1600 there.
Hotel in Old Town, Quedlinburg
Set in a peaceful location in historic and picturesque Quedlinburg, this romantic castle hotel offers elegant 4-star accommodations. The historic market square is a just a 1-minute walk away. Everything was simply excellent. A misunderstanding caused by my own rudimentary comprehension of the German language was solved by the Hotel without any issue. Thank you for the great service! The hotel itself is very charming, lovely decorated and on a great location. I would advice other travellers to go for the suite when it's available since it's well worth the slightly higher price. Parking is easy and on the premises, the city view is wonderful and walking to the city centre only takes a minute. The staf was, without exception, excellent, very upbeat and made the stay even better. We would highly recommend Schloss zum Markgrafen and would book again without any hesitation when going to Quedlinburg again.

very pretty buildings, very old buildings, very nice stories about history, check ahead what to see and when/where to book guided tours, so they will be available when you stay there ! for example special street events or church / museum visits
Very nice historical city with a lot of interesting houses, buildings. Good place for looooong walking (on a day we did 25 km!). The surrounding villages and towns are worth for a sightseeing, too. If you are there, try Quedlinburger, the pork version - very good. Go to the brewery for a fresh taste of beer (without filter) and eat a leg of a pork: 1 portion is more than enough for 2 persons. We are planning to come back...
Awesome little town, with old timbered and historic buildings. Easy enough to walk around, and generally flat. Slopes near/by castle. Good choice of restaurants available. Small farmers style market in main square on a Wednesday morning.
A really beautiful well preserved mainly eighteenth century town (some of it mediaeval). There are plenty of reasonable restaurants there, with good food at reasonable prices. One restaurant had really excellent breakfasts at a fixed price! As usual in Germany, vegetarian cuisine is old-fashioned and rather disappointing as compared to the wide variety of excellent vegetarian and vegan dishes now available throughout the UK. We would have appreciated a bath in the "bathroom", but this was not available!
Wish we would have stayed a few more days. This city is absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who might be interested in a trip to Germany. The Schlosshotel zum Markgrafen is a great place to stay if you decide to visit.
The town after its restoration and renovation has turned into a beautiful quaint town, a stunning difference from when we first visited many years ago. Has amazing old history and so much to discover. Unfortunately the Stiftskirche and Schloss were closed due to renovation work but we could still visit the grounds, crypt and Treasury. Would definately return when renovation is completed.
An ideal place to stay in Quedlinburg right on the main square, but not noisy at all. Evenings were quiet and it was nice to see the square empty during those times. The car park is just behind the hotel. Very convenient. The people at the reception and at breakfast we so nice and helpful. The room was very clean and had a minibar with lots of cold drinks. The breakfast was my favourite! Lots of choices and freshly cooked dishes. Loved the yoghurt with selection of fruit and also pot of salads. I will definitely go back there someday.
Location is excellent: the hotel is just at the foot of the castle, at the edge of the old town. The Marktplatz is about 10 minutes away through the pedestrian streets -- more if you stop in front of every quaint old house to take pictures, and it's quaint old houses all the way. The owner (or manager, I don't know) is very friendly and helpful. The typically German breakfast is generous. My room was under the roof, with wooden beams and old-style windows that were very nice. And it was really quiet.
Quedlinburg
The room, stairway and hallway were spotlessly clean. The decoration in the stairway was so cute and handcrafted, it made the place belong to quedlinburg, and not like a hotel which are similar looking and lack local feel. It was a house with a cozy homely and you will feel that you are in 'Quedlinburg'. The bed was very comfortable and staff was very cooperative, despite my language limitation, I didnot face any problem. Very nice place.
This hotel is our highlight in Quedlinburg. Courtyard, common space (with fireplace, piano) is perfect and very cozy. Good to spend time winding down or relaxing. EXCEPTIONAL staff and services. They go above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. Restaurant is also excellent. Spacious room. Walking distance to the castle and Finkenherd. ~10-15 mins walk to train station.
Quedlinburg
Lots of space, very neat, clean and fully equipped in every room. The kitchen was also fully stacked with all kinds of equipment, Espresso machine etc. Conveniently located in the midst if historic Quedlinburg. It really holds what previous reviews suggest and promise. Responsive staff that answered immediately when question came up (it was all virtual, due to Covid restrictions).
What to think of a real castle to sleep in? The owner explained us his teenage dream. He succeeded very well in transforming this huge building into a comfortable hotel. We had one of the rooms on the top floor and a nice view on the UNESCO-town of Quedlinburg. Full of knights in armour and art on the walls. Our bathroom was made of the finest materials.
The location of this hotel was superb, directly across from the Rathaus in the Altstadt. The rooms have been refurbished and are very clean, comfortable and tasteful. The breakfast was excellent. The staff (especially during breakfast) was so friendly, cheerful and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The main reason we chose this property is the elevator. Most hotels in Quedlindburg don’t have elevators. The place was immaculate and the staff very helpful. The rooms are very large even by North American standards. I also appreciated that they enforce very strict covid protocols.
Quedlinburg
