We stayed at this hotel because we arrived in the late afternoon and I did not want to drive to our destination that night. It is by the airport so not that scenic but we managed to get into central Munich - not cheap by any means (24 euros plus 20 for the shuttle bus there and back) but that was for a family of four. The taxi would have been 80 euros each way.
We ate at this cute little restaurant and the staff was so friendly and were honest in their recommendations for food they thought we would like. The town is cute and little, but the one gas station closes at like 8 and so does the pharmacy, which sucks because my husband had a sore throat and we wanted to get some medicine.
Very close to airport, great shuttle service, good place for wheelchair access, easy to get into Munich by train from airport. Clean, generally staff spoke English, modern rooms, in floor heat in bathroom!
Munich is a beautiful city full of history. We attended the Oktoberfest celebrations and had the opportunity to tour Dachau Concentration Camp. The city offers a variety of hop on/hop off tours and great shopping.
Clean, efficient, shuttle service, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included is always a plus. We had a room with a perfect view of planes coming in and flying right over us from the big window in our room! Quite enjoyable!
We wanted to stay near the Munich airport just overnight since we had an early flight, but did not want to pay $600 for the airport hotels, so we stayed at Schwaig bei Munchen and given that the shuttle fare was included in the $150 rate, it was a perfect solution. We did not see much of the town.
