The location, upkeep, maintenance, size. Everything. It was a wonderful experience to stay somewhere where the hosts were openly helpful and so professional at the same time. The presentation of everything from the rooms to the shared spaces and food presentation was excellent. We arrived by bicycle so after riding 200 km and struggling to get to the Island because of the tide, we were happy to be greeted with being asked if we wanted dinner in the restaurant. Plus being offered help with the best way to leave with our bicycles because of high tide, helped us plan the trip going forward. Truly an unforgettable stay. Thank you.

The location couldn't get any better - in the heart of Ribe. The historical building is impressive and charming. The breakfast was wonderful. We had a car, and the hotel had a parking spot available to us for a charge - which we appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dagmar

The most incredible location - right outside the door is the cathedral. Gorgeous shops and restaurants. Comfy and clean and approx 300 meters from a free carpark. Breathtaking!

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was a bit difficult to find at first, even when using Google Maps. For us the driveway to the house was a bit narrow because we own a van. But for normal passenger cars it will be a lot better. The house is cosy and clean and has a beautiful large garden. The owner is very kind and gave tips regarding ´black sun season´ which was appreciated by us.

Wonderful old town, charming, great pubs and friendly people...

Wonderful old town, charming, great pubs and friendly people. Historic cathedral too. Loved learning about the Jacob Riis connection, of which I had been unaware. Ate at Queen's Gaard. Drank at Strygejernet and Stenbohus. Beautiful weather didn't hurt!

Staying so close to the field to see the black sun was...

Staying so close to the field to see the black sun was amazing, just a short walk over the rail line. The bathroom layout was a little weird and the car park a bit of a walk from our room but a tidy complex.

Ribe is a lovely spot, full of history but catering well for tourists. Small, walkable, good restaurants and cafes, bars and ice cream shops Take a walk around the old castle site and admire the fantastic allotments. Colourful and beautifully kept. There are several nature reserves in strolling distance, one right next to the train station and Viking museum. Yhe cycle hire shop next to the cathedral is very cheap. Friendly proprietor, who can recommend routes. Cycle to the Wadden sea and the canal locks. Take 40 krona and pick up a jar of local honey from honesty boxes along the way. Evenings are peaceful as the day tourists disappear. Train links are regular and reliable. All in all, a great place.

Ribe felt very safe to walk in day or night.

Ribe felt very safe to walk in day or night. Friendly people, take your dog on leash everywhere and in most cafes, hotels, nice food, grassy areas to walk and explore, clothes shopping and the oldest town in Denmark was extremely well maintained and very clean.

It's a beautiful city with very attractive houses and other buildings. Just walking around in the city is a nice experience. The city has cheap shopping opportunities and restaurants. Since it is one of the oldest cities in Denmark, I will recommend it to those who love old architecture and fairy tale cities. For me, it's a personal favourite in Denmark due to its history and the fact that it is so well kept. However, it is a small city which you can explore in a single day too.

Beautiful little town, not to far from the sea. The cobbled streets with old buildings and the almost car free streets were a pleasure to stroll around. by the way, all cobbled streets have separate tracks for wheelchairs/rollators/prams in smooth granite. The 3 big parking lots on walking distance from the centre were all free, but don't forget your parking disk or stay more than 4 hours, you will get a KR 500,- fine. Shops close at 17h30 and after that the town was almost without people beside the few in the restaurants that were open. Corona aftermath?!? It was nice to visit the casual car show on Tuesdays ( opposite the harbour.) The Viking village looked a bit dilapidated, but I guess a lot was because of the irregular opening times during Corona. We visited end of August. Old and new Ribe are well separated, so no modern architecture within the old town centre, to the north of Ribe you will find the new industrial area, shopping mall, garages, a huge bicycle shop, etc.

The hotel is located about 5 kilometers from Scandinavia's oldest city Ribe. The surroundings of the hotel are really nice, ideal for long walks and bike rides. We had a very spacious room with a balcony overlooking the water. Room was clean and quite new. Really friendly staff, they made us some extra coffee to take on the long ride home. We had dinner at the restaurant once and it was lovely.

It is a nice hotel in the very heart of Ribe. I really liked the breakfast..lots of local products, delicious cheese,butter, pastry etc. Also we had small food for a dinner (like starters) and they were also delicious. We stayed at separate building from the main hotel building. It is really close, 50 metres max from the hotel, just across the square.
