You can use Silleda to explore the area around. The Ponte Taboada is close or the Fervenza do Toxa is a 15 minutes drive from Silleda. It has lots of nature and trails where you can hike or walk. We did not like the city centre itself, there's this pigsty smell everywhere.

The AC was not working when we booked and they rang us to tell us in case we wanted to cancel as it was hot weather. They offered the pool free to guests in compensation. The location is a good jumping off point for Santiago de Compostela.
