Nadi isn't a very interesting city in itself, and most people either head straight to the nearby resorts of Denarau island (adjacent to city) or for beach resorts and islands further afield. But an overnight stay is often needed for flight connections. Prices are high for what you get, but the city seems safe and well-run. No complaints.

Total rip off, refused portion refund due to shower not working, stained sheets, tv not working, no coffee,tea or sugar or milk or drinking water in room, room smells like urine masked with cheap disinfectant smell. Nadi itself is nothing much - it's a jumping-off point for folks travelling ion to a more glamourous location (the kind of place that one thinks of when one thinks of vacationing in Fiji). I wasn't even aware there was a town centre till my last day - I just thought it was a collection of businesses gathered on either side of a main road. Nadi is a local town and not all tourists. There are many shops and you can usually find supplies for drinks, snacks, souvenirs, clothing, towels, bags, shoes etc etc In addition to this there is a local cafe on the top floor of the mall building at the north end of the main street that has the best food in Fiji. Very un assuming but holy moly, best dosa I have eaten! Craft market has pushy sellers. This is never unexpected though in this setting. Spent our time between the two Hiltons and rented a car to explore Fiji. We were lucky with the weather and found everyone very polite and helpful. Taxis were/are a good choice and make sure you ask someone what the cost should be as I was able to reduce the cost by half by knowing what the suggested rate was vs what they asked, it only happened once as the other drivers were all very realistic. Having a kitchen in one of our rooms was helpful and allowed us to set our own schedule to match our times and cost.

The panoramic views of the surrounding area was great, especially during sunset. The attentive staff made sure that I had everything I needed. In terms of location, Nalagi Hotel is conveniently located close to Nadi Town and a short distance from the Airport. There is a seafood reastauarant downstairs ( i cant tell if its part of the hotel or not), but the food there was excellent.

Some shops are nearby. Other bigger shops and Nadi city are a bit away, expensive with a taxi but take a city bus it's waaay cheaper !
