Ideally located in the gulf of Ajaccio, with direct access to a small beach, Hôtel-Demeure Les Mouettes is a charming 19th-century house. The staff was so professional, welcoming and accommodating. This hotel is low key luxury all the way, from the fabulous bedding to the different options of where you could take your meals, to the wood burning fireplace in the lobby. Cécilia and her colleague provided fabulous service from the moment I arrived , well before check in time, to planning a fabulous excursion for me by train to Corté. They even got me checked in to my room over 2 hours early. The decor of the hotel is very fresh and chic. The location is wonderful, about a 20 minute walk to the middle of the city. But your away from the hub bub of the city right at the edge of Mediterranean with breathtaking views. If you don’t care to have the larger breakfast buffet at 21€, an appropriate price for this level of hotel, there is a boulanger right across the street that opens at 6 AM . If you’re only interested in a continental breakfast at the hotel, it will be delivered to your room. I spent 3 nights at the hotel, and never felt like I needed to rent a car. The hotel will readily arrange for a taxi at 10€ a ride, into the city. I can’t wait to go back to Ajaccio and would not hesitate staying at l’Hotel Les Mouettes again.

The Hotel Stella di Mare is located on the golf of Ajaccio in Corsica. It offers direct access to the beach and has a sea water swimming pool and an outdoor bar. Great location, waterfront with amazing view. Public bus No5 just outside the hotel will take you to downtown in 15mins (1€/person). We drive but it’s better to take the bus as you don’t have to worry about the parking. The hotel beach is quite rocky but you can swim. Really nice food in the hotel restaurant

I have stayed in this lovely town at November, when all the fun of summer days was gone and rainy days got in, so my activities were mostly visiting museums, monuments, train ride to visit neighboring villages. When cruise ship docked in for a day, town was suddenly full of people, otherwise barely any tourists. A lot of restaurants and bars were closed for a season.Even then, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and next time I'll come back at the spring time to explore more the island and it's shoreline.
Great for a nights stop over after and before flying out, nice old town with really good restaurants, be careful on the roads as it,s a manic one way system and confusing road in and out of the centre.
Ajaccio is a beautiful city, spoilt only by the accumulation of garbage on the streets. A walk along the promenade is most enjoyable and the area provides great opportunities to marvel at the landscapes.
I lived here for a time and recently went back to visit, and it is exactly the same: beautiful, intimate, wonderful. It has a quasi-city feel without the hassle of the city. It has beautiful mountain and water views, and there's always somewhere to go and something to do. Just a word of warning, summer is the best time to go; a lot of places shut down during the winter and Corsican weather in the winter can get cold and rainy.
We really like .Ajaccio. The port area and town are lively and a good mix of tourist and local. Good restaurants and fun to explore. Our second time there. The first time we chartered a boat and it was a great location to cruise the southern coast.
Things in Ajaccio move at their own pace. If you're the type to cram everything in one day this may not be for you. It forced me to unwind which was great. Things go slower and people aren't very rushed. There's definitely a more laid back attitude which if you're looking to relax, is definitely for you. Prepare more time for things simple as grabbing a bite. Favourite things about it were friendliness of people, though the cruise ship tourists can cause crowding in certain areas. Getting around Ajaccio is easy - the roads don't seem difficult to manage but would avoid taking cabs if possible as they're quite pricey. Public transportation, shuttles and car rentals recommended and preferred. There's always a slight bit of traffic getting around the city centre so prepare a bit of adequate time. I would recommend Le Bilboq Chez Jean-Jean. They only have one dish which is a type of languste pasta. Portions were sizeable, instagram worthy and delicious. Loud music plays overhead so don't expect it to be ambient romance but more of a neighbourhood eats feel for dinner. Large outdoor area for dining in the back streets made it a fun atmosphere.

Wonderful location, very good pool with view, clean and appropriately furnutured rooms, convenient bathroom. Nice poolbar during the day and excellent restaurant (breakfast is ok, lunch is fresh and fast served, dinner is super). And about restaurant - both location on the big terrace and sea view during the dinner are 10 from 10. Service is acceptable /not the best/ but way better comparing to other places in Corsica.

Super wonderful hotel. Very classy and nice room with a great view via the balcony. The warm pool was awesome. The staff were very responsive and pleasant. I loved my stay and regret I didn’t get to arrive when I was originally booked to arrive. I spent only two nights rather than the 4 nights planned. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Location is 25 mins by bus from Ajaccio and no.5 bus runs past the door frequently and only costs 1 Euro per person per journey or 3 Euros all day. View was amazing. Lovely and quiet which suited us oldies. Pool area nice and clean, and pool is heated which, along with heat from sun, can feel like a bath.
