The location is brilliant, right in the centre of Sancerre. There was a great selection of homemade honey and jams for breakfast and the best coffee I have had in France so far, made with locally roasted beans. The beds and the room were very comfortable. The attention to detail throughout and the very warm welcome from Frederique made it a pleasure to stay here.

An amazing night in this magnificent castle, perfectly renovated, with an amazing view of the Loire Valley. The castle is in the heart of the Sancerre village, surrounded with the wineyards which makes the place unique. The garden and its terrace, is astonishing and offers a great place for a walk. Elizabeth was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good with fresh fruit salad and we could take the left over bread for our picnic in the evening. It was lovely to have the use of a refrigerator to keep our wine cool. Elizabeth provided the glasses and plates so we could picnic outside in her garden.
