Sitting in the sun outside bars and restaurants, under the beautiful plane (?) trees, generally drinking in the ambiance of the south of France.
Although obviously Cassis will have grown over the years,
it isn't TOO touristy.
The French meals , especially when the fish was very fresh.

Mini train towards the top of Calanque; boat trip
Slight drawbacks: no taxis on arriving by train and not knowing the district; in total, a long journey from home if luggage heavy and traveller not very mobile (car, plane, bus, negotiating station; train, bus, foot and lost! Would seriously consider taking the TGV another time. Nevertheless, interesting on buses and train. No slipways, only steps, leading to the city beach
Tourist Office not particularly helpful, didn't make any suggestions.
A little disappointing: the cold Mistral, making the shore and sea a bit cool (in October)
