We booked very late in the day but had a wonderful welcome. Matt added a vegetarian option to the supper menu at last minute. Both supper and breakfast were delicious with almost everything homemade. Beautiful building.

Philippe and Kathy were wonderful hosts. Philippe took care of our reservations for dinner just around the corner at Popa Will immediately upon our arrival. They invited us for apple juice cocktails in their garden. Our rooms were tastefully restored and decorated to the 18th century. The bathrooms were roomy and clean. They were accommodated our requests for early breakfasts. The village of St Benoit was stunningly beautiful, especially at dusk.

Excellent location, comfortable bed, a lot of light and fresh air comes through the big windows. Very special house. It’s a new rental so the kitchen doesn’t have cooking basics so make sure to bring some. Plus the host was very nice and helpful.

We wanted a place to stay half way between Paris and Toulouse, and St Benoit en Sault fit the bill. The owners are renovating an old house in the medieval village and the renovation of our room was completed in July. So everything was new - lovely bathroom, comfortable bed, stylish decor. The outside of the building looks run-down, but don't be deceived: the inside is lovely. Breakfast was in a dining room and had nice touches - proper napkins, nice china. The breakfast was fine - apple juice, coffee, bread roll, croissant, butter, jam, bread pudding (!), fruit. The place is quiet, and the village is worth visiting.

The setting is lovely and the food was very good. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly. There was an issue with the room and he was very apologetic and made compensation to rectify the issue. Overall a beautiful place to stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

    Lovely village, charming and authentic.

    Lovely village, charming and authentic. Not lots of facilities but shop, bar, hairdresser and other small shops. Very tranquil. A lake within walking distance of the village with beach. Great stopping off point travelling N/S in France, but also an idyllic base for touring the local area and national park.

    Challiac B&B is the perfect location to break the drive from...

    Challiac B&B is the perfect location to break the drive from the U.K. to the south of France. Matt is an exceptional host - always personable and extremely welcoming. The rooms are well appointed, very comfortable, beautifully decorated, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The food is quite simply superb. Matt sources ingredients from the local market daily and prepares a delicious and beautifully presented three course set menu that wouldn’t be out of place in a top London restaurant. Breakfast is equally as good with a range of freshly baked croissants and Mary’s special granola. We can’t recommend Chaillac B&B enough - it’s more a boutique hotel than a B&B and we will look forward to staying again very soon!

    Matthew, the host, was friendly, and is a good cook. We had a great evening meal, and nice breakfast. It is a beautiful old house, with a lot charm. We had a good sized bedroom, which was well furnished, and the use of a decent bathroom. We were travelling with a dog, which was made most welcome. Chaillac has several bars and restaurants, other shops set round a square, and is well worth a visit.

    Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful host who booked the only available nearby restaurant for us when we turned up without a plan for dinner. Excellent breakfast and large comfortable room and adjoining bathroom. Splendid view of the night sky from the terrace outside. Picturesque rural water mill location, very peaceful, but only a few minutes' drive from the village of Chaillac.

    The breakfast is excellent, home made greek yoghurt ,granola and fruit compote.With croissants, bread and jams, plus fresh fruits and cake. Chaillac is an excellent location for exploring many beautiful villages. Our dog was made very welcome.
