This is a really lovely hotel. We booked one night ahead of our ferry crossing. We had lovely adjoining rooms for us and the children. Lovely high ceilings and big windows - the rooms were really light and airy. (It's an old Naval building) Nice view of the port. Hotel was immaculate and staff were really lovely and very helpful.
Large bathrooms with big walk in showers. Nice coffee making machine in the room. Beds were large and comfortable. Both rooms came with very large electric tower fans to make up for the lack of air con which did a good job of keeping the rooms cool.
Hotel was in a great location - over the road from free parking and an easy 10minute drive to the ferry terminal. It was also only a 20min walk to Citi De La Mer which is a museum of the sea and aquarium on the port that we took the kids to before our ferry.
It was also city centre location so 5mins from shops, bars and restaurants.
Ideal for our needs. Exceeded expectations.
Would consider returning if ever back in Cherbourg.

The bed was extra comfy and overall it was super clean.
A charming hotel where you will get the warmest welcome. Just a stone's throw away is the Place Napoléon.

We were offered a room on the first floor instead of the third, carrying our suitcases two less floors was much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The host called a cab for us to get to the ferry.

I love visiting this town. Walks around the town centre for markets shops etc. Then a short trip oiyt past the Naval bas to the beach and the long coastal walks. I love the history, the old forts the magnificent Norman ability to build with stone.
A drive to Barfleur for lunch of musseld and chips was another bonus. A lovely fishing port town off the beaten way with a choice of eateries all good.
Exploring the small restaurants in te smaller villages and town is always rewarding . Remember the French rise early and lunch ends at 2 p.m.
Skip breakfast and enjoy a leisurly early lunch instead!

We visited Cherbourg over Easter.
We visited Cherbourg over Easter. The town was buzzing on Easter Saturday with the food market and people out having drinks...very nice. Unfortunately in the evening there seemed to be a lack of restaurants open with the exception of a few high end places. We ate in the casino & also at our hotel, the Mecure. It's a nice place and a good location to see any D Day beaches/museums. You will need a car.

A really interesting town, great art gallery, and lots of places to visit around the town. It would have been good to stay longer but the weather was pretty bad so two nights were enough.
The extensive road works around the harbour totally confused our satnav and the temporary one way systems were pretty difficult to negotiate.
Loads of choice of restaurants all prices.

We have friends in Cherbourg and will continue to visit.
We have friends in Cherbourg and will continue to visit. But for British visitors, the strange pattern of Brittany Ferries' service from Portsmouth or Poole is a great deterrent for a visit to the Cotentin! Extraordinarily, the service from Portsmouth is one day per week - so you either stay for three hours to return on the same ship, or you stay for one week, or you have a long drive to and/or from Ouistreham.
The only advantage of this, from our point of view, is that it tends to keep some visitors away from the calm and peace of the Cotentin peninsular. We enjoy the lack of crowds - Maybe the Cotentin is a secret worth keeping!

Despite Major road works in progress Cherburg, getting around by car is quite easy. Walking around the town is a pleasurable experience and the harbour walks are must at sunset. Nightlife makes the narrow streets very congested at times and the noise level can disturb your sleep if your hotel is in the main socialising street areas.

Unless you have to visit Cherbourg don’t visit and stay at the moment as they are undergoing a massive refurb and building work is EVERYWHERE and nearly all roads are closed. I will visit again though as people are so lovely. But probably not until 2025.

The room was spotlessly clean bathroom beautiful staff excellent especially Lydia and Fatima. We were unable to get a taxi from hotel to Ferry Port to get our sailing to Dublin, Fatima very kindly offered to drive us and really saved the day.
Thank you so much again Fatima and also to Lydia for coming to our rescue.

Location - decor - facilities - amazingly quiet for the area - WiFi - Netflix - very clean - shops close by - bus stop a block away.....what more can one ask, much better than the B&B Hotels I've been to in Cherbourg - it's a self-catering apartment, so no brekkies, just a stroll away?
Great Rooms with a very friendly host, we enjoyed our stay in Cherbourg very much.
The Apartment is located in a good area on top of a mountain, so nice view and still short ways to the city.
Visit Theos Grill for very good food.
I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions. I like the small intimate feel and am always made to feel welcome. It is conveniently situated for the ferry, shops and restaurants and I would always stay here when in Cherbourg.
Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, spacious living area. Secure parking in the development was included in the price. Very well located near the centre of Cherbourg
