Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river. Extremely attractive with narrow streets and pretty squares. Lots of bars and restaurants. Lovely clean, modern facility (more of a bed & breakfast than what I would call a hotel). The host was really helpful & attentive. We had the last available room as it was a last minute booking & our host apologised for the size of the room, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants & Chinon is a lovely historic, picturesque town. Chinon is easily walkable from the river up to the castle/fortress ruins on small streets that are still used in the daily lives of its’ residents.
