Charming stay in a local person's Historic home. The home is actually built into the old ramparts of the old village. Very sweet family and nice experience. You need to be able to walk up a spiral staircase with your bags.

Historic old town with super museum in the chateau.

Historic old town with super museum in the chateau. Free parking in town. Loads of different bars, bistros and restaurants to suit everyone. Buzzy town with an amazing Saturday market. We ate at Le Vauquelin....very busy so recommend that you book. Great value and good food.

Plenty do and see with numerous places to eat and drink at...

Plenty do and see with numerous places to eat and drink at reasonable prices. This is a famous WW2 location as it's where the battle for Normandy was almost won. There is a WW2 museum and notably, it was the home of William the Conquerer and the castle is well worth the visit.

A lovely little town with a couple of outstanding churches and a magnificent Norman Chateau Wouldn’t stay on a Monday unless necessary as most restaurants are closed We ate at Lanterne which was excellent good food and service with good prices

Arriving on a Sunday we didn’t get to see the town in its best light, however it was evident there was plenty of history and interesting places to visit for historians. We were disappointed that the museum was not open on a Monday.

The museum telling the story of French civilians during WWII...

The museum telling the story of French civilians during WWII - very moving. You could buy an English handheld that gave you all the information although the exhibits were in both French and English. William The Conqueror Castle - again an excellent exhibition in both French and English. Handheld tablet let you see all the rooms as they would have been used and there were holograms of the historical kings and queens who had lived there.

I have stayed here before, which was why I booked Castel St L.eonard. For me, the accomodation is perfect. In the very centre of Falaise, with private parking for the car, it is a slice of old world luxury presided over by a perfect host. Superbly furnished, full of atmosphere, with true comfort and a very good breakfast.

Quiet location within easy walking distance of restaurants in Falaise. Attractive buildings and grounds - with our bedroom having a cleverly adapted stable stall (or outside table in sunny spot) to eat a very nice breakfast.

Beautiful walled garden and amazing breakfasts with home-made jams and tart. We didn't need to eat much for the rest of the day! Beautiful room with traditional features and very comfortable. A hidden gem in Falaise!
