If you are looking for a special experience, I recommend staying her. The building and grounds are an an actual castle built in the Italianate style (think Romeo & Juliet). The host and hostess were most accommodating. The grounds are extensive and include a very nice campground where the spaces are privately spaced with bushes & trees in between. There are laundry facilities. Some spaces have amazing views. The swimming pool is very large, with a play tower and two water slides. Our room was more than adequate, quite clean, with a balcony and a wardrobe.MicheleUnited States of America - Scored 6.06.0

A convenient stop over town with a carrefour for cheap petrol and food for the onward journey. Closed on a Sunday evening. We drove around town, but difficult to find a restaurant on a Sunday evening. Had to eat in a horrid Buffalo grill next to our hotel.

We had no time to visit Issoire.
We had no time to visit Issoire. We only wanted an overnight stop. For that purpose the Ace was perfect. Very close to junction 12 on the A75 -- easy to arrive and depart. The hotel was simple, clean, the room comfortable and larger than many motels. The breakfast was copious and offered a good choice of high quality food.

Kettle with tea and coffee. Little fridge. Excellent bed. Probably the best shower I've ever had. And the breakfast is unbeatable. I used the pool too - it was reasonably warm at 8am!
