Friendly people, a compact, safe town and excellent information made Langres a perfect and interesting stopover spot. We stayed two nights so had a full day there which was easy to fill with interesting sights and food.

We arrived during the annual music festival and it was very lively and made for an interesting stay. Music ranged from classical, jazz to thrash metal! Would thoroughly recommend the festival.The town itself is very attractive with a lot of historic interest.

Beautiful old fortified hilltop town, small enough to walk everywhere. The ramparts make an excellent walk. Langres is about halfway from Calais to the Alps, so made a good overnight stop.
Birthplace of Denis Diderot, who appears so much in French street names.

Lovely walled town.
Lovely walled town. There are plenty of little shops, bakeries, a supermarket, bars and restaurants.
It’s great to walk around the ramparts which enclose the city. Everyone was very friendly. There is a great little market on Saturday selling local produce. Langres cheese is delicious.

The town is stunning.
The town is stunning. Large yet every part of the old town is stunning and charming. I’m so glad I found this little gem. So many French towns are wonderful but quite “samey”. Langres really stands out from the crowd. Go have a look.

Lovely small traditional French town with battlements and...
Lovely small traditional French town with battlements and lovely small streets etc. Not much English spoken anywhere we went so bear that in mind. We had a drink in Le Foy, very friendly, bought out a dog bowl. In the evening we ate in le Bistro de L’atelier which served lovely food and was in a small village square.

Very nice stayover on our way to the south of France with 3 mo baby and dog. Everything clean, beds made, even a breakfast provided, which included fresh oranges (and a juicer!), coffee machine with beans.
A short walking distance to the centre where we had a drink in the sun and enjoyed the local wine shop with tasting.

This hotel is very good for an overnight stop. I have used it for 6 years when travelling to/from south of France to UK. It is clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful and you can get a good dinner in the restaurant. Ideal after you’ve been driving all day.

There’s a cool modern vibe here that we liked. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was completely adequate. Breakfast buffet was good. The hotel is a very short walk from the historic centre , yet very accessible.

Lovely hotel located in Langres centre, a short walk from the High street (rue Diderot). Parking round the back (note an 8 euro charge). Friendly receptionist. Comfortable bed/room. Great breakfast!
