Mercure Metz Centre, hotel in Metz

Dear guests, please note that our establishment is undergoing renovation works! We are renovating our standard rooms, so we expect some noise pollution during the day.

Great location near train station and the older parts of the city. Great staff. The best part was the attached restaurant, Emile & Lola. We had one of the best meals we had ever had anywhere

Hôtel Du Théâtre Centre Historique Parking Souterrain Gratuit, hotel in Metz

Set in a 17th-century building with 18th-century furnishings, this hotel is located in a historical district of Metz, along the Moselle River. Four terraces are available.

The hotel location can't be beaten - right on the Moselle River through the middle of Metz, and across the river from the historic city centre and the Metz Catherdral square. The hotel is in a historic building, with all the quirks that come with a building like this - no built in furniture or storage, all free standing. The room was quiet and the bed (very!) comfortable, however it should be noted that the bathroom while clean, was dated. We felt that the Hotel Du Theatre was very good value, especially with the included parking! (see below!)

    We stayed only one night.

We stayed only one night. The city has a nice historical center with various small restaurants and cafes. The rivers are surrounding the city which creates many beautiful views and a few small islands. I recommend to walk through the city center - the traffic might be tricky if you are not familiar with the place.

Really nice small city with some stunning architecture and riddled with history. The central covered market was amazing with great places for lunch or a takeaway and there was a long street with all sorts of food including a great selection of French and Asian restaurants. A good range of shopping in the city centre but also some out of town areas too so a versatile place to visit. We stayed in a great B&B on the other side of the lake to the city so could easily walk in but there was also plenty of parking around if you need to come in by car. We can also recommend the Ouvrage Hackenberg Maginot Line Fortress as a fabulous historical site to visit with a tiny railway inside the hills of the fortress. They run different language groups each day with enthusiastic and welcoming volunteers who are lovely. Do check websites for the various historical sites to visit though as I think most of them are volunteer run so aren't open every day or only after 2pm etc. so plan carefully :)

Lovely squares and open air bars and restaurants ; typical French cafe culture - live music in the street, dancing etc Attractive buildings, streets etc Cathedral very impressive; could only do 'the tourist train' as short on time, but saw other areas of city we could have spent more time visiting. had dinner overlooking river and church in L'Assiette du Bouef - excellent.

The stained glass windows of the cathedral are wonderful, and so is the old city. Metz is a pleasant city, go for the flowery ice creams, they are beautiful and delicious. The free bus to centre Pompidou is a surprise. La cour d'or is worth visiting. I will strongly dissuaes you from booking an appartment from the organisation Rock &Share, they make promises they do not keep.

Beautiful city to walk around in.

Beautiful city to walk around in. Extraordinary cathedral if you are into architecture; Centre Pompidou-Metz is also superb from the perspective of architecture. Also: very extensive archaeology museum if you are into that. And there are great restaurants. Not too touristy (too far for day trips from Paris, in contrast to Reims). I did have a problem with the housing; best to avoid "rock-in-share" listings (I was charged for two nights, and also charged a "cleaning" fee, but was never able to pick up the key or enter the place).

The hotel has a perfect location in Metz centre. They offer some nice activitie such as outdoor pool, small gym and table soccer. Nice restaurant and beautiful bar with a huge variety. The rooms are large and comfortable. The total impression from outside (view on building) is somewhat old. But inside this hotel is really nice and comfortable. I stayed here already 5 times and will always come back if do business or a private stayover in Metz. Absolutely recommended!

A romantic hotel at few minutes walk from the centre of Metz with free parking and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and towels were changed every day. Connection to Internet was good and secure. Our room had coffee and tea and a fridge available. The building of the hotel is classic and traditional. We didn't have time to use the swimming pool. Close to the hotel is a Michelin (3 star) restaurant, El Théatris Restaurant with excellent food.

Very good location, right next to train station and parking garage, short walk to city centre, and riendly staff. The hotel will upon request give an evidence of stay to present to the parking reception, so that you only pay a reduced price for 24H of parking (when we were there the price was 9,10€, a saving of over 8€)

Comfortable room with a great bathroom. Great location in what seems to be the very centre of Metz yet quiet too. Although it's a five minute walk to a nearby parking garage, the hotel does give you a good discount for it making it more than reasonable overall.
