Wonderful location in a charming historic village. Our room was in a restored house that was part of the outer wall of the village. The room was large with a decent sized bathroom.

Background info: Five night stay in room 6
The shower was amazing, one of the best ever in a hotel.
The breakfast was delicious and very good value. Sample the madeleines!
Dinner was good but my food was heated unevenly. Another day I ate a Fondant au Chocolat that was delicious.
The building is ancient but the room I stayed in was redone very well.
The hostess who received me was friendly and had a good sense of humor.

The restaurant was unfortunately closed at our day of arrival, however we had a very intimate and tasteful dinner at the local restaurant 'Auberge Du Coq'. Very friendly people, they allowed us to sit at the balcony, overlooking the valley. Quite romantic and a splendid alternative. Hotel host was very helpful. Very impressive place to stay!

There are several good restaurants and bars, take away foods, and some gift shops. The medieval character of the town is well maintained, a credit to the residents. There doesn't appear to be a lot of tourist accommodation in the town itself, people are coming in just for the day but it is by no means crowded. There is very little traffic inside the walls of the town except for deliveries and drop offs. For longer stays you can shop and dine in nearby Meximieux which is a 15-20 minute walk away.

The 'city' has been maintained in 'original' condition.
The 'city' has been maintained in 'original' condition. The many artisinal shops well illustrate the range of skills within the village as do the boulangeries and restaurants providing a satisfying range of fare including the traditional galettes. Tours are available with guides if necessary. The village is small and can be adequately covered in half a day. It is very well worth visiting! There are a number of other historical sights within relatively close driving distance of the village which could make it a good base to explore the surrounding area as well.

I enjoyed my visit to Perouges very much.
I enjoyed my visit to Perouges very much. It is a beautiful town, completely medieval. There were already tourists in January. I think there will be many more in the spring and summer. I would recommend anyone wantng to stay in the old town to make reservations well ahead, months ahead for the high season.

This was a stunning old medieval village, small enough to walk around and explore thoroughly in less than a day. Staying there was like stepping back in time. And we had the streets to ourselves in the morning and evening.

Set in a quiet courtyard, literally round the corner from the interesting medieval village of Perouges. As the village gets busy with visitors it’s perfect to be able to retreat until the majority have left. The room itself was simply furnished but comfortable, stylish and clean. Friendly owner, though we communicated mainly with smiles and gestures!
A medieval village set on a hill and the hotel uses several of the grand ancient buildings. Our room was enormous and we had a garden/terrace with wonderful views at our disposal attached to our building. Dinner was good, as expected for the price.
Good location with plenty of parking. Perouges is walkable but plenty of parking up the hill. Helpful friendly welcome with good info on local restaurants. Didn't use pool but looked excellent!
