Located in the heart of St Emilion village, 45 minutes from Bordeaux, the Hostellerie de Plaisance offers a panoramic view of Saint-Emilion and its vineyards. The hotel, room, bathroom, staff and restaurant were all perfect!!!!
Set in a former Templar House, Auberge de la Commanderie is located in the heart of Saint-Émilion medieval town and offers views of the town and vineyards. It is just 5.6 mi from Libourne. Matthieu on reception could not have been more helpful giving info both within the hotel and external to the hotel. Most friendly and caring. Quite exceptional. Thank you.
The hotel Au logis des Remparts sits in the heart of the medieval city of Saint-Emilion. It has a garden with an outdoor swimming pool, and air-conditioned accommodations. The hotel location is amazing and a walking distance from all the atttactions available at St Emilion center. The architecture of the hotel was perfect and within the area architecture. The hotel staff was very helpful. The bed and the cushions are super comfortable.
Located next to the Dordogne River, this 19th-century Château is 2 miles from Saint-Emilion. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a spa center and soundproof accommodations with free Wi-Fi. Location, Staff and Restaurants
Hotel ibis St Emilion is located 3.1 mi from the center of Libourne and Saint Emilion, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is 19 mi from Bordeaux on the D670 Motorway towards Bergerac. It was a great breakfast and the young lady working the desk and servicing the breakfast was courteous and friendly.

This area is wonderfull with so much to do and see. It is expensive for meals and wines, so choose wisely. The fun small train tour for the vineyard tour with a wine tasting around 12euro. The 3 wine taste and small tour through the monk abbey and underground wine cave about €12 and very informative. Loads of walking in pretty places, and also many places outside to visit by car or by train.
Charming village with lots of character. Wine shops on every corner. Traveling in off season was nice because at times it felt like we had the place almost entirely to ourselves. For dinner you must go to Logis de la Cadene. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious to eat and interesting to look at. Wine pairings are a must. The red we had with dinner was the best we had the whole trip. To view the wineries I highly recommend booking a private tour with Paul from Bordeaux Elite. He put together a customized tour for us based on what we wanted to see and he shared his knowledge throughout the day. He was also great company! 2 nights was the perfect amount here. Suggest you avoid any rolling suitcases if you are arriving from the train station. It is a 20 minute walk to town and the sidewalk is gravel most of the way. Not any better once you get into town and have the cobblestone streets. A backpack or carry bag would have been a much better option.
Beautiful historic town in the heart of the wine producing region. Very touristy as expected but most of town shuts down in early January. Wish we had known as even restaurants were mostly closed. Very difficult to find food and drinks. Would definitely like to return between January and the peak season. Likely to be very crowded during season.
Saint Emilion is a one of a kind jewel. It is not just a beautiful old town. It is an incredible history lesson set in the lovely vineyards of Beregerac region. The townspeople are warm and welcoming. The wine & food is amazing. We enjoyed eating at Pascal which is right in town but our most wonderful dining experience was Les Belles Perdrix de Tropolong Mondot. This was the vineyard chateau we stayed in for 2 nights. The experience was very special. We loved their location. The views were amazing. The walk through the vineyards to the town was magical. Our dinner there was delicious, creative and in a lovely setting. Folks there work very hard to provide service that is a cut above the rest. The chateau's chef with his Michelin star does not disappoint. When going to town remember to wear comfortable walking shoes. You will be on cobble stone streets. Everything is walkable. Go! You won't be disappointed.
Such a picturesque town that has history, good food/wine and very friendly atmosphere. Great for kids. Easy to walk around town which is great when wine tasting - no driving required :) Do not wear heels ladies, wear comfy, flat, non slip shoes as there are some beautiful steep alley ways that can be tricky. If you have a car, there is so much to explore in other towns also. We visited Bordeaux, Arcachon and largest dune in Europe (highly recommend for kids/teens). We stayed 5 nights and I wished we'd stayed more as there was just so much more to see, do and explore. My kids (10 and 7) loved it too. Make sure you visit an underground winery, some are so interesting. Information centre has awesome guide books categorising the wineries and have detailed maps. They also have a kids map that sends them on a treasure hunt and we all learnt so much.

This apartment is extremely well-located on the central square, surrounded by many lovely restaurants and wine merchants. We found the apartment to be clean, well-appointed, and equipped for all of our needs. The kitchen was well stocked and we definitely enjoyed the luxury shower after hot days out walking around the town. Check-in and out were convenient. We arrived later than expected and the owners made sure we could access the apartment no problem. We would highly recommend this property for anyone staying in the area.

We were frustrated because we couldn't find the hotel (see negative comment) and St Emilion was a zoo on a Friday afternoon before Easter but Silvi (sp?) at the wine shop who welcomed us was so helpful and nice. Her friendly demeanor immediately calmed us down. I like how the hotel was inside the medieval town. The room was big and equipped with a stove, fridge and washing machine. There was even cereal, milk, OJ, fruits, etc for breakfast which I didn't expect. We had a lovely time.

Everything about Chateau Grand Barrail was fantastic. We enjoyed the location surrounded by vineyards and yet a short bicycle ride to St Emilion. The property was superbly maintained, the rooms spacious and elegant, the dining room very elegant. The breakfast was great. The swimming pool, hamam and spa were very relaxing. The staff was super friendly. A place to remember and hopefully to return!

Hosts Nikki and Julian were very friendly and gave us lots of tips and information about the local area not just in St Emilion but also up the road in Libourne and even in the Loire half way up the country for driving tips! The whole building is beautifully and tastefully decorated and very comfortable indeed - the bed & sheets in particular are worth a mention - super soft! Very clean and a view from the loo! Location was perfect for us visiting St Emilion without being in the centre of it -a very quiet location but also very easy to get into the town and also for driving without having to deal with the town centre traffic. Restaurant recommendations were super too and we enjoyed leafing through the numerous wine books in the lounge with a cup of tea and slice of cake. Wonderful place - highly highly recommend and could easily have spent longer there.
