We stayed four nights here, spending one full day in Vannes itself and two days exploring the country and coast around. We thoroughly enjoyed out staff because of the variety of places to visit and the excellent restaurants.

Nice and historical port village, with nice restaurants and cafes. It's mostly a University village, with plenty of young people. All is within a walking distance and it's easy to be surprised at any corner by wonderful historical buildings.

Delightful old town with plenty of good bars and restaurants – beautiful medieval buildings, gardens and a harbour. Well worth exploring – and possibly a good base to explore the surrounding gulf area, which looked really interesting. I'll certainly return to this area to see more.

Visiting the southern coast of Brittany, we drove along the coast to Locronan, Quimper, Pont-Aven, Carnac - for the archeologist there are plenty of other Dolmens and other stone monuments mostly reachable by car, which have small carparks to stop at, Auray, Port Louis, Quiberon all within easy reach. Going north east to Josselin, Rochefort en Terre and the east of the Gulf of Morbihan also easy to reach by car, There appears to be a good bus service too but we didn't use it. Took the train to Nantes for the day - watch out for overcrowding on the train if you come back at rush hour!! Must see in Nantes is the Iles de Nantes mechanical museum with huge moving mechanical elephant which carries passengers.

Very clean, modern and well provided hotel with an indoor spa and pool facilities. Excellent breakfast with helpful attentive staff.
The actual location of the hotel is in a very large commercial complex area with a supermarket, cinema, Decathlon sports shop, car show rooms and several restaurants all within a few minutes walk. Some may find this great, others may want a more urban, town centre location as Vannes centre is 10 mins by car and probably too far to walk.
Everything! The property is very contemporary and exceptionally well appointed with high quality fixtures and fittings. The quadrangle provided an abundance of natural light and a lovely spot to sit. Situated in a quiet residential street just meters from the port and within a very short walk of the historic centre. Pleasant, helpful and friendly host.
Everything was as expected from a Best Western Hotel - everything worked, the room was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The location made access to the heart of the city very easy - we were really surprised by Vannes itself and would like to have stayed longer.
What we liked most, was breakfast. A very wide choice of tasty food and some vegan options which is not always obvious. The staff was friendly and polite. The location of the hotel is also good - a walking distance from the historic centre of Vannes.
