Angel and Royal Hotel, hotel in Ancaster

Idylically situated in the south-west corner of Lincolnshire, Britain's oldest inn, Angel and Royal Hotel, is an historic hotel that's said to have hosted 7 kings over 600 hundred years.

The beds are very comfortable and give a good nights sleep. The room was easily accessible for a disability, and the bathroom was big and very clean. The room was of a very good size and very pleasantly decorated. Good facilities in the room, kettle and tea making facilities which is always appreciated. The breakfasts are always of a good quality. Overall the standards of cleanliness are always very good and all the bedding is pristine.

Lovely location near the beautiful village of Osbournby. Everything has been carefully thought out, room decor, food and service. It was an absolute delight and we would like to come back for a weekend. We thought that the staff were exceptional, a big shout out for the more mature employees with life experience who knew the history of the property.

The night before we had hot water to shower but the next there was non 😒 I tried at 05:30 run for 5 minutes boiled kettle twice went fishing. later wife tried to shower running again for ages ended up having virtual cold shower. she went to complain at office she told older man in 3 years he hadn't had this problem and wife went away feeling fobbed off as he didn't seem bothered and she wasn't happy as it put dampners on the break.

    Beautiful country surroundings. Very tranquil.

Beautiful country surroundings. Very tranquil. We were only down for a family wedding but come down to Grantham relatively frequently so will definitely be exploring ancaster in the future. Ancaster activity centre is brilliant, it had a bowling alley, paintballing, go karts and other things on site. Definitely worth a visit.

There isnt much to NOT love about this place ,it is only 10 minutes from Grantham yet you feel like you could be in some idyllic countryside escape as it is set in acres of beautiful woodland with numerous lakes ,camping sites or luxury lodges or rooms ,a restaurant if you dont want self catering .Brill for all age groups (familes, couples, singletons ) Play area for children ...what more could you want . It also hosts weddings ,parties etc and the food is lovely & reasonable priced . Ive been lots of times over the years for walks or a drink & meal but first time we have stayed overnight and i would definately stay longer in the future & really enjoy the beauty of this well run place & manitained to high standard
