United KingdomI highly recommend this property and if possible, would give more than 5 stars! The area is so lovely, the apartment was immaculate and has all that you need for your stay. Kitchen includes microwave, dishwasher (added bonus when your on holiday) and washing machine alongide what you would expect from a kitchen.
There was a tv. and games console, with plenty of remote controllers and games if you like to play. Some condiments and cleaning materials in the kitchen, mini toiletries which was a very nice touch. All areas of the apartment are decorated to perfection and very stylish. The view from the balcony at the back is stunning, making it hard to want to leave the property! The updates from the letting company were so informative and extremely helpful! The before and after service was impeccable. Will 100% stay at this property again, hopefully soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay and for the excellent customer service.

Food was beautiful never had a menu with starter and main for breakfast and to enjoy it in the conservatory was delightful.
Staff were all bright and cheerful and nothing was a trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you

New ZealandThe Old Grammar has had a glow up and boy is it good. From the second we arrived Esther, Lauren and the team could not have been more helpful to us and our canine companion.
Little touches like the freshly baked flapjacks and dogs treats for the pup go the extra mile and breakfast too is a cut above. We wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful public rooms, terrace and garden but we loved it so much we have already booked our next stay.
Fantastically located to enjoy clear views over the iconic racecourse the Old Grammar is an unbeatable base to enjoy the delights of Cartmel and the Lake District.
Thanks very much to the OG team. We can’t wait to come back.

IrelandHotel overall was fantastic. Decor in rooms was lovely, facilities were more than adequate, and the hot tub was huge for two people. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The view from our superior hot tub room was unreal looking over Lake Windermere. Same goes for the view from the hotel restaurant. Staff were lovely and took their time explaining everything to us. Location was also great, just 5 minutes drive from Bowness on Windermere.

Really good loaction for exploring, as we had a 9 hour drive...
Really good loaction for exploring, as we had a 9 hour drive we were pleased not to be in the car too much . Great days out at Sizergh and Fells Foot. Highly recommend both.Lots of supermarkets we used Booths which is like Waitrose and also serves great breakfast before 11:30. Used the spa/pool at Cascades up the road for £10, lovely pool.

Lovely apartment and setting. Clean and well equipped. The only issue was no lift so second floor apartments not suitable for elderly or disabled. We have my 90 year old mother who struggled with the stairs.

We were 8 people and apartment was suitable to all our needs. It was well equipped with all amenities. Great location, very nice river view from balcony, nice and clean apartment. Would totally recommend to large groups.

Backbarrow is just off the A590, so really easy to find.
Backbarrow is just off the A590, so really easy to find. There's not much to do in Backbarrow - it's got the local steam train station one way, and the Motor Museum, local hotel and escape rooms the other - and great walks from the door. No local shops.

The property is in a convenient location for lots of lovely walks around Backbarrow and Haverthwaite. There is plenty of space inside, sleeping 5 with a double bed, a bunk bed and a single bed. Lots of amenities provided such as milk, sugar, coffee etc which was appreciated. Great communication with the owners regarding questions we had, they were lovely and friendly and always replied promptly to queries.
