The room was very clean and nicely furnished (modern, yet cosy). Staff was exceptionally friendly. Whenever I talked to people in shops or cafés, you could feel the love and appreciation the people of Hexham have for The Beaumont and the people working there. I highly recommend staying here.

The choice from the breakfast-menue was excellent, very varied and complaying with all different needs. Our room was very luxerious, niceley decorated and the bathroom one of the very best. we enjoyed one of the very best afternoon teas at the Matfen Hall and keep a very good memory of a truly old country home in a beautifully natural setting. We felt that no expenses were spared to turn an extraordinary building into a very special hotel. We just loved it and will surely come back to Matfen Hall

Perfect base for visiting the nearby fascinating excavations...

Perfect base for visiting the nearby fascinating excavations of the Roman camp with really interesting museum (recently featured on BBC’s Digging for Britain), and Hadrian’s Wall. Steeped in history the beautiful St Anne’s Church dates back to the eleventh century and beyond. Fascinating array of local shops and bakery, interspersed with delightful coffee shops and restaurants in a charming setting of unspoiled period architecture. Highly recommended.

Visit historic St Andrew's Church on the site of the...

Visit historic St Andrew's Church on the site of the original church built by the monks of St Wilfrid in 774 AD. Walk over the Grade 1 listed seven arch stone bridge built 1674 on same site as first bridge built over the Tyne in 1235 Imo, Corbridge a much better place to stay than Hexham if visiting Hadrians Wall and exploring south Northumbereland.

Corbridge is a lovely place to stay and visit and the surrounding areas lovely places to have a meal and drink locals are friendly and dog friendly for dog owners i think there is great choice places to eat and to meet people needs and is easy to walk around Corbridge for all ages

A pleasant town.

A pleasant town. We used Corbridge as a base to explore the Roman sites along Hadrians Wall. Great location with easy access to the road and rail network. The people we met along the way were very helpful and friendly. Stayed at the Dyvells Inn near to the railway station, perfect location very hospitable stay. Also ate at The Valley Indian restaurant. Again excellent food very helpful staff and a very friendly hospitable atmosphere. The Dyvells Inn and the Valley Indian restaurant a perfect combination and both on the doorstep for the railway station with great parking access if travelling by car.

Corbridge is a market town with a lovely mix of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Enjoyed meal at The Angel and snack at Corbridge Larder. Well stocked Co-op if you are self catering. Be aware parking can be tricky - free over the bridge but busy during off peak period.

Corbridge is a lovely village with some really nice shops...

Corbridge is a lovely village with some really nice shops and restaurants. We ate at the Black bull one evening, which was really nice. We also had a take out from the local Indian restaurant, the food was really good. There's lots of beats to fish on the river Tyne, Ghillies are very helpful and friendly. Book before you go though. Would recommend the Exit Newcastle, if you like escape room experiences. The young guys that run it are lovely, it was a really fun experience and they have several rooms to choose from. The roads are nice to drive and well sign posted. Only place we would avoid is Newcastle city on a Saturday afternoon, only because it was so busy.
