We were happy on the whole with our room but did have to ask for toilet paper as there wasn’t any in the bathroom and milk to make tea/coffee. Also the sink area in the bathroom was not clean. We enjoyed our evening meal and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We loved the location, peaceful during the night, but a nice cosy feel during the day. The food was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner over our three night stay and would recommend the food highly. The bedroom (No 3) had a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom, which was great.

The pub has a challenge to climb Gowbarrow Hill. We did it before breakfast and there were beautiful views from the top. There are walks from the village but a car is needed if you are going further afield in the Lake District.

The hotel is in a lovely area close to local walks and good if you want a nice quiet break. The bathroom amenities where very good with a high pressure shower that got warm very quickly. If you are at the front of the hotel there is a beautiful view. The breakfast where very good with large portion size. The staff where very apologetic about a power cut they where having however we were not wanted in advance.
