This small guest house is 5 mins walk to Stow station. The room was very spacious with a huge bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. Great place to come and go at any hours as you have your own key to the room and the front door is always open. This is a very good option if you want to explore the borders in a well connected base

The flat was Clean warm and comfortable . The hosts Louise and Stuart were lovely. Fast response on questions. Would stay again deffinately. Parking was not a problem being on the main street. Lauder is a lovely place. Friendly people too.

We were using Lauder as base for visiting Edinburgh.

We were using Lauder as base for visiting Edinburgh. Just spent one afternoon exploring the town. Enjoyed sandwich and tea at a Deli and walked around castle grounds . Train into Edinburgh from Stow worked well. Also drove to Dunbar for the day.

I particularly enjoyed the warm welcome, and the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar. The food at dinner and breakfast was top quality. I travel throughout Europe and stay in many hotels, and I have to say that this was the best hotel experience in many years.

Butcher, baker, deli, post office and cafes in Lauder. Very close to all visitor attractions - this time, we visited National Museum of Mining , Trimontium Museum and Abbotsford. We ate lunch at Eden Melrose, really tasty!! Also House of Soutra - amazing breakfast!

Lauder is a great village with everything you need.

Lauder is a great village with everything you need. Spotty Dog for coffee and a Scotch egg, Flat Cat Gallery for gift shopping and cake. There is a butchers, post office, pharmacy and co-op. As well as a beautiful church, castle and surrounding areas with lots of history and natural beauty. An underrated gem

Excellent accommodation within a beautiful building of great...

Excellent accommodation within a beautiful building of great historical significance and set in magnificent countryside. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend the castle tour. Our guide (Norman) had a wealth of knowledge with regard to both the castle itself and the Maitland family who have occupied it over the centuries.

Everything. Friendly and helpful owners. Large and comfy room and bed. Plenty of extra refreshments available on the landing. Fantastic breakfast with lots of choice and extras (berries for porridge, fresh fruit salad). Excellent hotel across the road for evening meal (Black Bull). It was a shame we were only passing through.

This is a lovely hotel. The room was very big, king-size bed with lots of space for our stuff and a very big bathroom. We came for a wedding in Thirlestane Castle so the location was ideal. We arrived early (midday) and our room was ready which was very helpful. Breakfast was also very nice and staff were helpful and kind.

Well located property in Lauder, just a couple of minutes walk from the high street. Recently renovated with a lovely kitchen and bathroom, the property was very clean. Ideal for a few days away for walking in Lauder, I would definately stay again.
