Absolutely loved the place. While in the country it was not far from attractions, especially the Roman ones. We had a great evening meal when we arrived, staff were so friendly and made us so comfortable. Morning cooked breakfast was also fantastic. Great place to stay

What a lovely place to stay when visiting Hadrian's Wall! We had a beautiful view overlooking the river and bridge. The room was large and comfortable. Brian, the owner, was very kind and generous with his time and allowed us to use the laundry facilities knowing that we'd been traveling for weeks. He's a fun and interesting conversationalist as well! We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Newbrough is a cute village, it's quiet and although I stayed on a Friday night there was little to no noise past dinner time. I did take a stroll around and watched some local sports being played near the pub. However if you are looking for a quiet night in the English countryside near Hadrian's Wall then this will suit your needs.

Newbrough is a small village style location, quiet & with countryside views. Local amenities are few, but a short car journey would get you to a 'local' shop for needed items. Reasonable distance to Hexham & Carlisle, both good destinations to experience. It appears to be a starting point for many people on a Hiking break.

This is the cosier version of Hadrians Wall, and most tourists miss it. Safe bike ride on the Stanegate, and access to all the sites on the Wall. The local beer ("twice brewed") comes from down the road and is quite lemony. The Roman remains (Vindolanda, Magna, Birdoswald etc) are in various ownerships ( and hence discounts for members), so take you pick. I like Corbridge best, not least for the museum and Grant's bakery in the cute town itself. The riddle of the mysterious octagonal object in the display may have been solved- not religious, but a device for knitting socks. Cherchez la femme!

Everything about this trip was amazing.

Everything about this trip was amazing. We booked in for a meal on our first night, and I’d throughly recommend doing so. It was all cooked to perfection, and the sticky toffee pudding was soo good! Breakfast the following day was stunning too, definitely a great start to the day. Our room was lovely, good size and very comfortable. We loved the fact there was board games available to use, we found it very handy and our daughter loved this. If you’re considering booking to stay here, do so, it won’t disappoint!
