A lovely town where you can stay if you want to do the South West Coastal Walk. You can walk along the coast from Seaton beach to Beer beach and Beer Head taking in the wonderful coast line. A visit to Seaton Marshes is a must if you are into bird watching. This is well maintained with well positioned hides for looking at Oyster catchers, black headed gulls, Avocets and other waders.
Seaton itself seems to have suffered from the pandemic and still looked rather "off season" in May. Hopefully many of the shops will re-open from half term and the flower tubs along the esplanade will be re-planted (April had been pretty frosty and cold this year so may have delayed planting). On a sunny day it had a great seaside vibe and there is loads to do in the area: Blackberry Camp, Lyme Regus, SW coastal walks to Beer and Branscombe, Axminster, Honiton, vineyards...we ran out of days!
Seaton was lovely and quiet with a pebble beach and little harbour and quieter than its neighbours. It is well placed for visiting the surrounding area; Bicton Botanical Gardens, Beer, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Lyme Regis which can be busy. We had some good recommendations for where to eat which did not disappoint ie The Pig at Coombe, and The Millside at Lyme Regis. End of lockdown and not all places open. Also mixed weather meant difficult to spend any time at the beach.
The beach and walks were brilliant. Would recommend it to anyone There’s a fantastic fish and chip shop A great Chinese one of the best I’ve every tasted they were really very friendly. A brilliant Tesco if you want to buy for eating in

Owners very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for them. We will return again next year
Town is excellent for anyone who wants a quieter resort, however not much in the way of shops, except for Tesco not much opportunity for general retail although there are some lovely gift/craft shops and cafes.
