The Anvil Lodge sits just off the main street, away from the hustle and bustle of the old market town, but an easy walk from pubs, restaurants and quaint shops. Mike and his wife could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I enjoyed the experience greatly. I highly recommend it.
Within 9 km of Weston Park and 14 km of RAF Museum Cosford, Shrewsbury Fields provides free WiFi and a garden. This is such a beautiful property! It is so tastefully decorated with designer flair, you can see how much thought and care Sarah has put into the interior design and colour schemes! The house is spotlessly clean and tidy in a quiet neighbourhood. My teenage son loved the converted basement with play stations, large TV, wii and a football table game. There are two larger bedrooms and a smaller single room. The house was very cosy and warm for cold February weather. We loved our stay here and would definitely hope to return.
The Days Inn Telford is just off junction 4 of the M54 and 5 miles from Telford. There is free parking and bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and unlimited free Wi-Fi. Very clean and spacious room for the 2 of us. Beds were really comfortable and shower was really nice too.
The reception was the worst I've ever experienced. The owner came to the car park as I was arriving and told me to park on the road since we could not park 2 cars per booking. Fair enough, I complied. Then came check in time, before he showed us our room, we were standing by the door, he asked us to tell him the time that we will be coming for breakfast. We were also asked to pick our breakfast options that time. The guy is arrogant and rude. I requested if we could go and drop our bags in the room first, then we have a look at the menu but he declined, demanding that we do it that very moment. Apart from the poor reception and the bad attitude of the host, the room was very clean.
Shifnal is a beautiful place with some interesting shops, it has an old-school feel with Butchers, a bakery, florists and gift shops plus a craft beer local retailer not to miss. There were a lot of empty premises and units up for rent/sale which I am sure in time will be snapped up for even more choice of shopping.
Was attending an event at Telford and , not knowing the area took a bit of a gamble ;which paid off really well.Near to the High Street so an evening meal was easy to sort out after the 3 hour journey there.
Shifnal is a quaint town. Train travel is difficult lots of cancelled trains. I missed the event at raf Cosford due to a cancelled train. So if you are travelling always check the live updates for trains
Shifnal was, for us, a really nice place in its own right as a bonus. We were there to visit the annual Large (flying) Model Air Show which takes place at the nearby RAF base; and which we highly recommend.
Visiting family/thought we would try Odfellows Inn but but genuinely the cleanliness or lack of was quite appalling - holidaymakers be aware- very very disappointing - we didn’t use the shower it was so dirty and full of black mould!!
Lovely B&B, Chris & Alison were very welcoming - breakfast was delicious and the rooms felt very homely (unlike larger commercial hotel chains). Very charming
Room was clean and a lovely breakfast My wife left her necklace and the staff did find it and returned it after making a couple of phone calls to hotel
Such a lovely room, right over a nice pub right in the centre of Shifnal. I’ll be back with my wife and she’s really fussy!
very friendly and welcoming. lady who runs this hotel
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly.
