Hawkwood is in a beautiful location with far reaching views, wildlife, birdsong and woodland walks from the door. The wholesome food and gentle ambiance was a real delight. I had also booked a workshop in Hawkwood the following day so it was very convenient for me to be able to stay and attend the workshop.

Everything was just perfect at Kate's place. She's got beautiful home, big kitchen with nice breakfast everyday that follows your needs (alternative for milk etc.) and home-made bread! We could use the terrace with a view just on trees and there was no problem to come back at any time.

We had a truly wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a few days in Stroud. Dan is an outstanding host who genuinely cares about his guests. He was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and added a personal touch that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The guesthouse itself is spotless, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully maintained. My wife especially loved the excellent ventilation, the tasteful room design, and the stunning garden, which was a perfect place to unwind and relax after exploring the area. The location is another huge plus - just a short walk from both the railway station and the town centre, making it ideal for getting around without needing a car. It’s the little details, the cleanliness, the care, and the genuine hospitality that make this place stand out. We’d happily stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Stroud.
