My main visit to Telford and the area was to walk (did plenty of that-17 miles Mon/Tue), and to explore the locality. Telford is a beautiful town. The Telford Town Park is a definite must, especially if you like walking. There are plenty of of lovely attractions within a reasonable distance of Telford. The places I also visited is the nearby is the fabulous RAF Museum Cosford. Beautiful Attingham Park (National Trust), near Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury itself is lovely with its beautiful Quarry Park encompassed by the River Severn. Ironbridge...this place is well worthy of a visit. My favourite place was The Wrekin. A two mile climb to the highest point in Shropshire, but worth it once you get to the top, especially in a nice sunny day like I had.
Telford was very nice but I kept getting lost at all the circle. I visited the RAF Museum at Costford very interesting . Ironbridge Gorge I had nice walks with my dog and we had lunch at the Half Moon tea room and sat outside by the river and very dog friendly. put TF8 7LP in your satnav for the best way to find it. Went to the World of Wedgwood Pottery on the way to back Scotland. last but not least visited Canack Chase great place for dog walking
Ironbridge town is lovely and the bridge itself an amazing feat of engineering. The place was busy but not overcrowded and the pubs and eating places fabulous, even with covid measures in place. However, cancelled planned visit to Blist Hill museum as too expensive at £20 each. Went to Shrewsbury next day which made the trip for me. Lovely place with loads to see and do.
Lots of attractions around the place, but very little in the city. Attractions are good, but can easily be done within a weekend - not much point planning beyond this. Ironbridge is lovely but very lacking in veggie food options. RAF Cosford is a must see. Local Indian cuisine places are the best places to eat.
We wanted to take a short break to visit the Shropshire attractions - Ironbridge,, Coalbrookdale, etc. We also wanted to experience the countryside in Shropshire. We were not into making a tour of Telford itself.
Comfy bed and clean bathroom. Very professional receptionists too. They went out of their way to address all my concerns and were very courteous too.
