Waking up every morning to the view out of the window and garden. It had everything we needed for our stay also comfortable and cosy as we had a couple of nights with high winds and rain. George was a great host very helpful and will definitely be back.

Very cute place - comfortable, nicely decorated like typical mountains houses ! We really felt at home!
Perfectly located to enjoy Portree and the most popular hiking trails on the Island (Quiriang and The Old Man Storr).
Les and Mery are wonderful people : super nice, they gave us tips and advices to organize our visits on the neighbourhood, shared their passion about Scotland and made sure we had everything we need.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious and generous ! A wonderful way to start the day :)
We highly recommend this B&B in Skye and are considering coming back !
A close drive to Quiraing and The Storr. We hiked both on the same day as well as touring the Skye Museum of island life. There is not much to the town, but we had great meals at the Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel. The views are lovely.

I love Uig.
I love Uig. The locals were all so friendly and a wealth of information. It was easy to get around the island by car from Uig, and convienently close to the ferry (we caught it from Uig to Isle of Lewis).

We spent time in Uig because we were taking the ferry to North Uist and then again when we returned from Harris.
There are a couple of options for food- The Ferry Inn and Uig Hotel, but they need to be booked in advance, then a cafe and a bar which does takeout food at the harbour.
The brewery has a shop there, there’s a pottery and a petrol station and a small shop for food.
One interesting place we found nearby was the Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir and the cemetery next door which had a monument to Flora Macdonald and is the burial place of fashion designer Alexander McQueen!

Rather small village with only a few restaurants and you need to make reservations if you want to have dinner. If not, you can drive to Portree, which is a 20 minute drive.
Uig is nicely situated for visiting the northern part of the island of Skye.

Uig is a charming village.
Uig is a charming village. If we had more time this would have been a great base to explore the Outer Hebrides Islands (the ferries departed out of Uig) and it was really easy to get to Portree on the main road. I also discovered the Isle of Skye Brewery is located in Uig, but didn't get a chance to visit.

Uig is a quiet place, perfect as a starting point for a trip around the Isle of Sky. We had a rental car, I'm guessing getting around by bus might be a bit difficult. By car we took a tour around the island, got off where we wanted (Quiraing, The Storr, Portree, Staffin Dinosaur Beach, Fairy Glenn, view points, cafés, museums, craft shops etc.)
Next time I get there I'll also plan ahead a trip to the Outer Hebrides. Getting - or even staying - there requires a bit of planning as accomodation and ferries are heavily booked, but I'm sure it's worthwhile.
Booked this as the location is only a few yards from Uig ferry terminal as we needed to catch an early crossing to Tarbet. Holiday chalet is a bit of a reach as accommodation is simply a row of five living caravans.
Having said that the place was clean and tidy with all the facilities you would expect however the place was a little careworn.
Bearing in mind accommodation in Uig is not plentiful if you keep expectations realistic a perfectly adequate place to stay.
Perfect location for exploring the Isle of Skye. Very quiet but an ideal base for exploring. Room was large with clean shower facilities & a good breakfast selection. Easy check in with key box. Small outside area to enjoy. About 5 minutes to Uig Hotel by car which serves lovely food. About 30 minutes to main town Portree.
Small but very nice room, with great nature view. Toilet is new, very confortable too. Everything very clean. It is quite close to the centre of Uig, but would recommend to go by car.
The owner was very attentious and gave us some tips regarding what to do around. Would definitely comeback.
B&B as it should be, in the hosts home! Mike and his wife were exceptionally friendly, the beds are very comfy, breakfast was splendid and cleanliness was on point.
It is very nice and quiet with Uig just a few miles down the road.
Beautiful place. Great view from the house. Clean, comfrtable and with a great kitchen to cook maels. Adele the owner is so nice and helpful and Uig is a great town to stay in, when you are in Skye.
