Very small, historic town, very olde world, friendly people, not over burdened with gift shops, lots of pubs in a small area. Most offering good traditional cooking. Like the castle, it's small but well kept. If you like fish and chips, they are wonderful from the blue crab. Best pub, wheatshief, friendly, good beer, good food and dog friendly.

Yarmouth has a good hotel and some great restaurants. It is a ferry port for a rail-connected ferry to the mainland of England and has a good bus service to other parts of the Isle of Wight. It is surrounded by countryside with some good walks and pleasant beaches.

Lovely little town with great hotels, inns, restaurants and shops. Handy for sailing and boating people, but for landlubbers like me, too, with ferry from Lymington right in the town. Buses take you all over the island from the handy bus station. Lots of good walks.

Wonderful place, the pier is truly magnificent. So peaceful. Kids came crabbing and fishing. Gossips Cafe on pier and Ice Cream shop are wonderful. Small pebbly beach yet always find fossils if tide out. Great parking nearby, fab places to eat. It’s a hidden gem!
