United StatesAbsolutely everything was perfect! Unbeatable views, very clean & comfortable, everything was high quality, and it is evident Marios really cares about his guests enjoying their stay. We were greeted with food and water in the fridge (important since you can't drink tap water on most Greek islands including Zakynthos), and it was enough for our 3 day/4 night stay. Lovely soaps and shampoo provided. Air conditioning works great, and the pool stayed cool & refreshing despite the sun beating down on it all day. Marios is also a very talented artist, and I enjoyed seeing some of his works. He provided fresh towels at one point and offered to change the sheets and provide some cleaning, but we declined all but the towels and trash service since we were OK with the rest. The house is in the quieter and less crowded area of the island, which was perfect for us, although you can sometimes hear roosters and music from the nearby bar when outside. I highly recommend taking a nearby boat tour of Shipwreck Cove and the Blue Caves. We also really enjoyed Alykes Beach, which is not too far. I could go on and on about how much we loved our stay. We are already talking about when we can return and hoping this house will be available!

Czech RepublicTotally mind-blown by this hotel's incredible hospitality! Even though we stayed for just one night, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome.
The authentic Greek boat tour to Shipwreck Beach and the Blue Caves was unforgettable. Breakfast was also amazing. They served fresh omelets, Greek yogurt, and so many delicious dishes that our table was literally full of fresh food and drinks.

We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

United StatesMr.and Mrs. Valais were very kind and welcoming. Valerie was also very attentive and made sure that l enjoyed my stay. Julie at the pool was very attentive and came to my rescue when l was feeling dehydrated and almost passed out due to the very high temperatures. Thanks to her, l quickly recovered myself just in time to drive to the airport to return back home.
John, in charge of the security at night, was also nice and assisted me with opening the door after midnight as l had mobility issues walk with my cane.
I am very grateful to all the staff for making my stay so wonderful and memorable. I will recommend Valais Hotel to all my friends and family.
God willing,I am looking forward to coming back for Easter next year.

The village was how we'd imagined a Greek island should be, it was our first visit to Zakynthos and we wanted somewhere away from the built-up busier resorts in the south. We hired a car at the airport from EuroAlfa car rentals, they had the best reviews and are a family owned company with years of local experience. We would say a car is probably needed while staying on the north tip of the island. We saw no public transport. I'd searched out some places to eat and they were all great, we ate at Madrakia Taverna and To Nisi, both in Agios Nikolaos and a short drive up the hill The Old Windmill, which was exceptional. The little coffee shop below our accommodation, Passeo Coffee & More served the best coffee and ice-cream at the best price. We took a boat cruise to the blue caves and shipwreck with Actipis Cruises. Great value for money but pick your day if you don't have sea legs, it was very choppy the day we went and my sea legs aren't the best!! We love a run (even on holiday) it's very hilly but the views were worth it, found some off road routes on Strava. The sea all around the harbour is crystal clear and there a couple of little beaches, Madrakia beach was our favourite.

The property was very quiet and very clean, the water and the beach are very clean, we stayed late in the evening on the beach listening to music and watching the stars, the view was beautiful, in the morning the sunrise is a wonderfull, everything was perfect, the owners were very polite and good people

It is a very spacious villa, incredibly clean, and has a very hospitable and friendly owner. They provided us with welcome wine and Zakynthos sweets, all the essentials for the first days of our stay, such as bread, ham and cheese, water, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, and much more. The villa was cleaned every other day and all the sheets and towels were changed. The owner's mother even brought us homemade Mosaka :-)
The villa is very quiet and without any neighbours. The view was fantastic and much better than the pictures. All the facilities were working in very good condition. There was a big BBQ and several beds in the garden.

On our first visit, during the day, we found that the cruise boat touts were quite aggressive, dominating every car park available, and tried to stop you whilst travelling. Felt very intimated, so moved on, and this really spoilt our first visit.
We returned at a later time at around 5 pm, when they had gone home and found this a much better time to visit where we could enjoy a peaceful stroll and visit the local shops and Taverna.
This experience could be off putting for many new visitors and maybe the activities should be more restrained.

I really loved the area of Agios Nikolaos and would stay here again. My only caution is to rent a car. It's not near town and you can't walk from location to location. But it's quiet, and it's beautiful in Agios Nikolaos.

Great location overlooking Agios Nikolaos, there are some excellent restaurants nearby, and Agios is perfect for hiring a boat or popping to a bar. You are about 20 minutes from the shipwreck beach. Get up early and see the sun rise, or stay up late and turn all the lights off and look at the stars.
All the staff were amazingly hospitable, and Dimitris was a wonderful host, who even helped us recover our car when the rear wheels got stuck when the ground behind our car collapsed when visiting a local restaurant.

What an amazing find! Beautiful villa, incredible views, great pool area and everything we could have wanted.
The location is fantastic - a short drive to Agios Nikolaos, which was a beautiful harbour village. 20 minutes to the shipwreck beach view point. Close to more shops and restaurants in Alykanas.
Elina, the host, was so helpful and attentive and checked in regularly via WhatsApp.

Amazing apartment, totally equipped, stunning view - the size of the pool is more than we expected. Breakfast is served in the apartment - so maximum privacy whenever you ask for. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
In summary it's worth every Euro and we enjoyed every single second at this hotel.
