A beautiful hotel in a remote beach area. Perfect for those looking to unwind and love the sun and sea. Gorgeous pathways from the hotel that lead to many little beaches and bays to swim. There a little taverns and mini markets scattered around the area, however the hotel has a fantastic restaurant with delicious food with great offerings. I really enjoyed our daily breakfast we were spoilt for choice, especially loved the home grown figs. The town center is a 10 minute taxi drive or you can catch the bus. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My advice if wanting to visit the villages or other towns book a day or two ahead with reception as the island is remote taxis can be limited when it’s peak season. Overall I would stay again at this Beautiful hotel.

We spent the last 3 days of our one-week Karpathos trip in Jhonathan Hotel. Lovely place with fabulous sea view. Rooms are comfortable and spacious enough for families with children. Paris is a perfect host. He was always available via phone when we had a question. He was asking if we need something when he was going to city center. He gave us an umbrella to use at the beach. We have visited many beaches in Karpathos and Amoopi has definitely the best ones. There is short walking way from the hotel down to the beaches, so ignore the route shown in Google. We definitely recommend Jhonathan Hotel and would come back in our next visit.

I liked the beach.

I liked the beach. The sand is soft and the sea calm and shallow. There are few places to eat but enough for us. We had dinner usually at Calypso restaurant. The food was good ant the staff friendly. There is also a cocktail bar named Pebbles which is excellent. they offer very nice special cocktails. they have live music shows every Friday evening. the cocktails are a little expensive but the wine and beer prices ar mostly reasonable. In general Amoopi is a very quiet place. far from the crows and perfect for a relaxed vacation.

Amoopi is a very seaside small town on a slope, about 20 minutes drive from the main port town of Karpathos Island, Pigadia. Amoopi has two of the most beautiful calm protected and organized beaches of Karpathos, great tavernas, and a variety of non package deal accommodation options. Best to have a rental car when staying there to easily access the beaches, tavernas, Karpathos port (for boat or ferry trips) and for day trips to other locations on the Island. Our absolute favorite place to eat was Dimitrios Fisherman Taverna.

Amoopi is a nice friendly fishermans village, they have few but good restaurants around, and the beach is quite beautiful. The only problem was that the sea water was cold, i was quite surprise by that... i was expecting good temperature but not... cold water in mid july.

Absolutely gorgeous location. Close to multiple beaches. Views are dreamy. The staff and hotel manager is very friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay for us and we were very grateful for the late checkout to help with our luggage and welcome drinks. Breakfast was tasty and the lunch menu portions sizes at the hotel are large. Thank you so much Argo Hotel.

The hotel is amazing, a gem in Karpathos island. It is comfortably located in a hill overlooking Ammopi bay. The spacious and elegantly decorated rooms as well as the kindness of the owners provided me with an amazing and relaxing stay. When I go to Karpathos again, Althea Hotel will be my first choice for accomodation.

This is what true Greek hospitality is about. Paris the owner did everything to make us feel welcomed. The hotel is located in an amazing location away from the noise and close to all restaurants, supermarkets and the sea. The room was super clean and we cannot wait to visit again.

Nice hotel in a beautiful setting. Very clean and quiet. Great view to the sea from the balcony. Good water pressure and always hot water in the shower. Good wifi. The owners Irene and Sophia are very kind. We will definitely come back!
