We had a very pleasant stay at OAK farm traditional guesthouse. First of all, the host, Virginia, is a very friendly and positve person who is always willing to give info for the island and anything else that you may need. She shared with us many tips for restaurants, nice beaches, local parties, etc. which made our holidays nice. Regarding the house, it is located very close to Chora (around 10 minutes by car) and also the house is located around 40 minutes from the port. So, it is a very convenient place to stay, because Andros is a big island and from this location you can easily access many spots. Moreover, the house is very well and recently renovated and it is located in a farm. Virginia welcomed us with a basket full of organic fruits, vegetables and eggs from their own animals and garden! Lastly, there is plenty of space in the garden where you can chill out and rest. I would definitely recommend OAK Farm traditional guesthouse!!

I loved everything about the hotel! It's a stunning beautiful historical building, very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and located right in the center of the town - walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach and the staff is exceptional friendly. We even had our breakfast on the small balcony. If we return to Andros next time we will definitely come back:-)

The hotel's location is particularly good and close to the village center. There is free parking space opposite the hotel, and everything you need is available at the supermarket next door. Inside, the rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the one we stayed in (118) had a wonderful view. Although it is located on the street, there was no urban noise at night with the windows closed. Nice beds and comfortable pillows. The reception, pool bar, breakfast, and room cleaning staff were extremely polite and helpful in every way. Overall impression: excellent so far. Issues for consideration: 1) Small shower size, barely fits a normal-sized person, resulting in water dripping from the shower onto the floor with a real risk of someone slipping and hurting themselves. We had a similar issue. 2) For six days, breakfast was the same every day, with no variation or addition of local flavors, but it was complete and satisfying for all tastes. 3) The way the pool cleaning "manager" communicated and reminded us of the pool rules, and as I noticed, only to us, even though we reverently followed the rules, which are common in every similar space. Also, one morning, the same man, who claimed to be "in charge," addressed a man with whom he was transporting a refrigerator in a pickup truck, using loud and vulgar Greek slang, completely disregarding the presence of customers at the pool, including children who understand the Greek language.

Hopefully this review will encourage some other solo travelers to visit Andros, I kinda fell in love with the island. After some crazy days in Athens it felt like a retreat to stay here for some days. The room is basically a small studio apartment where you can also cook. The owner picked me up from the bus station when I arrived and gave me some fresh lemons, so sweet. The kitchen is well equipment with also basics that you can use, even there was water and fruit juice for me in the fridge.They also offered to take me back to the bus station after check out but it was okay for me since it was just a small walk and I didn't have much luggage. Chora is a cute town with a lot of stories and also some museums. When I visited (end april) is was visibly low season though. The view from the room is lovely. You can do a lot of nice walking trails and they are super well marked. It takes you through ancient paths between cute (and calm) villages. It's a great place to experience the real Greek life. Trail 17 starts really close from the guesthouse too and I highly recommend it. Also trail 1 was beautiful. The little bath was so nice to use after a long day of hiking... Thank you so much for everything!
