I loved everything in the hotel. the staff is amazing, very attentive. the best experience in Greece so far. it's right on the beach. The beach was amazing, clean, sandy, water was the cleanest. the hotel has a restaurant down, where the food is delicious and affordable. the lady from reception was very very nice, she made sure we were comfortable in every situation. The best part was that, after checkout, we needed to leave by ferry but the ferry was at night. we decided to stay on the beach, and the lady gave us a whole new spare room, to wash up and get ready for our departure (we didn't expect that coming), without any price added. we were very happy and delighted with that gesture. thank you <3 The place is full of locals, not a lot of tourists, and not too crowdy and noisy. The place is just perfect for a small peaceful vacation. Loved it. the accommodation is according to price, but we had quite a big room for 4 people. if you are looking for peace just go there, it's affordable and comfortable.

We felt so welcome in a clean, modern, well appointed self catering suite. The welcome basket was a thoughtful extra! Excellent air con, towels and home cleaned every 2nd day. Comfortable beds. Reception staff were very friendly and helped book our excursions. The beach is a short walk away that caters for families with small children in calm water.

The location is superb right on the beach above the owners own restaurant which is an added bonus. Late in the afternoon the local families arrive with the children which creates a superb atmosphere . The accommodation was very high standard way above expectations we would highly recommend staying here.

The house was immaculate and in a wonderful location overlooking a quiet bay. Katarina and her husband were exceptional hosts, welcoming, kind and available to help with transport and local recommendations. We stayed for two nights but wished it had been longer! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Katarina for a wonder stay!

We stayed in a beautifully designed and thoughtfully decorated room. The king-size bed was exceptionally comfortable — a true pleasure to sleep in. You can really feel the care and attention to detail that the owners have put into every aspect of the property. The location is perfect, just steps away from the main square of Syros. Absolute 10/10 — highly recommended! Thank you for everything; we will definitely be back. Also, the breakfast was absolutely incredible — a perfect start to each day.

Vari is a village located towards the south of the island,...

Vari is a village located towards the south of the island, and well connected with the circular (both clock-wise and counter clock-wise) bus route around the edges of the island. The distance is only 15 minutes to get to and from the capital Ermoupoli. I find that, while this is obviously not Cancun, most beaches I've visited, including Vari are much better compared to some other Greek islands I've visited. There is both sunbeds, some tree shade and some publicly owned fixed umbrellas with no sunbeds if you enjoy lying on the sand like i do. I visited almost off-season (middle of May) so I only ate at two places, the more traditional tavern of Bolas (very nice) and the local grill, Vox (very honest if looking for something more quick). Highly recommend Vari for a more quiet-mellow experience.

Peaceful friendly location, a shadow of its former self...

Peaceful friendly location, a shadow of its former self however green shoots for the future evident, the services that remain are perfect for a peaceful get away with a wide shallow sheltered bay that gently merges into the crystal clear blue waters. However for a more sophisticated yet more affordable experience a short walk to Achalida a smaller beach formed around a little harbour where you will find Emily’s Hotel and beach cafe a family run establishment serving great lunches snacks and drinks at reasonable prices with a warm welcome for all including non residents, it is clear why so many people return year after year. At the other end of the beach you will find a higher end restaurant that serves fine dining and a good range of cocktails and local beers.

Vari is a nice bay to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather...

Vari is a nice bay to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather and food. It is small, and I was impressed by the fact that the beach was adapted for the handicapped - so they can enjoy bathing in the sea as well! I ate at the hotel and at nearby restaurants, with the staff being very friendly in both places, and the food very good.

Fantastic beach.

Fantastic beach. Wonderful soundscape -- wind in the old pine trees, bells, birds. Amazing food -- even for Greece, the quality was just out-of-this-world. Really uncrowded, too, though we were visiting during high season. Beyond Vari, we loved Ermoupoli, which is only 5-10 minutes away -- with its wonderful shops (Sandalia, Kritsinas George), restaurants (Seminario), cultural spaces (the Archaeological Museum!) & coffee (Plastico!).

It has a clean beach, 3 restaurants on the beach, a beach...

It has a clean beach, 3 restaurants on the beach, a beach bar, 2 mini markets, nice beach view, calm waters. You can stay all day long, every day, and whenever you get bored (because you will), the rest of the island is 10-20 minutes away. Vari is in the middle of every destination.

Vari is a small beach with two restaurants and three cafe's/...

Vari is a small beach with two restaurants and three cafe's/bars and two convenience stores. It is about 15 minutes from Ermopolis and has a bus stop with regular bus service. The beach is protected from the north-east winds and has excellent clear water. Vari beach is popular with families.
