South AfricaVery nicely appointed rooms in a great location in Ermoupoli. High quality linen and towels. Double glazing make the room quiet even though it’s central. Short walk to the swimming beaches as well as all the sights and restaurants. The shower has disco lights, which was fun.
The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, sharing everything from restaurant tips to doctors advice. Definitely would book here again!

ItalyLila guesthouse was the best guest experience! We have spent 6 days, during while we had a great time. The location is near the port and the centre of the island, you can move by feet, no need car. In a few minutes you get restaurants and shops. Lila and his husband are welcoming, nice and interesting. Me and my friends spent a night with Lila, and we had a great time, we felt her mental depth and I’ll always remember her good parfum! The rooms are clean, the hall is so beautiful and the breakfast is good and it’s served with care. Eveything was perfect! We will come back!

The Queen of Cyclades
Located in the middle of the Cyclades, the Greek island of Syros is the administrative centre of the region. Having a large Catholic population, this charming island features unique beauty, fertile plains and beautiful beaches.
The capital of Syros and the entire Cyclades, Ermoupolis, is an impressive amphitheatrically built town with old mansions, marble paved streets and lovely hotels. Named after the Greek God of Commerce, Hermes, it has a number of imposing churches, like Agios Nikolaos.
Constructed by Ernst Ziller, the Neoclassical Town Hall of Ermoupolis is one of the most impressive town halls in Greece. You can relax under a palm tree or enjoy a loukoumi (the Greek version of the Turkish delight sweets) in one of the beautiful cafes at Miaoulis Square. Amazingly beautiful area, everything is so clean , tight and so relaxing atmosphere. Very quiet around so you can stay at pool any time of the day and read book in calmness and no one disturb you… Location is super ! Stuff is so helpful and friendly. Nikos with George was taking care about breakfast ( by the way the breakfast was very good, dishes change every day , everything fresh , hot , delicious, and soooo many variations of the food, I loved it) . George escorted me to the room and explained basic things and some organising moment and rules. Nikos was so kind and was taking me by car down to the beach ( kind of transfer , just because I was lazy to walk 7 minutes by foot 🤪😁) Sofia was taking care about reception and my booking . I had super good experience with it. All was smooth and easy. She was helping me with check in and check out . Thank you guys for so warm welcoming and good care during my stay 😇🩵

We had great expectations when we booked our holiday at this structure. The reviews from other guests were excellent, and the place looked beautiful, overlooking Kini. What can we say… From the moment we stepped out of the car to the (sad) moment we had to leave, we felt at home, we felt welcome, and we felt as if we were among friends we had known for years.
Everything was perfect — from breakfast to sunset.
Andreas and Terezdina are wonderful hosts: always smiling, always attentive, always offering the very best service with genuine warmth. Truly refreshing.
We now clearly understand why so many guests return to Pino di Loto year after year. And Syros is absolutely worth visiting: Ermoupoli, Ano Syros, and Kini are all charming.

The staff at the Benois are brilliant, they are extremely friendly and courteous. Nothing is too much trouble and they are keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are clean and well presented. The pool and outside areas are very comfortable. Breakfast has something to offer all tastes. The restaurant serves a varied and tasty menu. The hotel is about 15 minutes in a taxi from the capital although the local bus service is an excellent way to see the island. There are other restaurants and eateries within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as part of our island hopping holiday.

This accommodation comfortably fitted 8 adults and the accommodation was outstanding.
We were greeted on arrival and given a thorough explanation of the ins and outs of the accommodation and everything you could have needed was provided. The pool and outdoor area was beautiful and the views were stunning. Air conditioning worked very well and we enjoyed eating our dinners in the sunroom. Ads we had cars, the 15 minute drive into Ermopoulis was no issue.

Very nice 2 star hotel with 5 star service, extremely clean, rooms done daily, toiletries and towels replaced daily, ample and varied breakfast, good WiFi, hosts do their utmost to make your stay enjoyable. Hotel is also in a great location with bus stop just outside the door and a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Highly recommended, will surely stay again if I visit Syros.

The property was across the beach and only 15 mins drive away from the port. The bedding was very comfortable and Anna-Maria the owner, was fabulous with her hospitality and providing key information re the use of the public transport etc. All her staff were fabulous and was sad to say goodbye to them all.

We loved Ermopouli.
We loved Ermopouli. Loved the simplicity and ease in getting around. It's got a great vibe. Love walking along the port with all the shops, restaurants and cafes. I came to Ermopouli last year in August and there was so many tourists and locals. This year travelling later in September we noticed not all the restaurants and shops were opened. Miaouli Square was very quiet except for the pigeons. It was quieter however it didn't take away the wonderful experience with walking around and eating out.

Kini is a very very pretty little town.
Kini is a very very pretty little town. There are a few tavernas which are good. The beach is beautiful. Aside from a mini market there is not anything else in town so come equipped with provisions. The only thing is that the island can be hit with the Meltemi but in that case it's only a short ride away to find a sheltered beach!

Ano Syros, located within what used to be a medieval castle, is just an amazing place to use as your base in Syros, if you do not mind the uphill steps that is. The narrow cobbled streets, the fortress architecture along with a variety of bars and bistros really create a great experience. And the views are just breathtaking!

Vari is a village located towards the south of the island, and well connected with the circular (both clock-wise and counter clock-wise) bus route around the edges of the island. The distance is only 15 minutes to get to and from the capital Ermoupoli. I find that, while this is obviously not Cancun, most beaches I've visited, including Vari are much better compared to some other Greek islands I've visited. There is both sunbeds, some tree shade and some publicly owned fixed umbrellas with no sunbeds if you enjoy lying on the sand like i do. I visited almost off-season (middle of May) so I only ate at two places, the more traditional tavern of Bolas (very nice) and the local grill, Vox (very honest if looking for something more quick). Highly recommend Vari for a more quiet-mellow experience.

Typical small Syros resort. Approx 10mins easy drive from airport, 15mins into Ermoupoli. Azolimnos has probably 5 or 6 restaurants and bars with a laid back 'local' vibe. Mini market and bus service. Beach is small but clean with some sun loungers and umbrellas for shade. Our visit was mid September which seemed a perfect time to go. Days were nice and warm with sun until gone 6pm. Easy to drive around and tour the island from here.

We loved exploring the town.
We loved exploring the town. We walked to the churches on top of the hill which gave an amazing panoramic view of the town. The streets are made of marble and a night walk throughout the town is enchanting. There are lots of restaurants and bars. The harbour is always busy with ferries and vessels coming and going .

Kinion is a lovely small resort with a good selection of good restaurants and a few bars all set on the waters edge.
We visited towards the beginning of June for 6 nights and there was a good traditional Greek atmosphere but not overly busy which suited us.
The beach is safe with shallow waters and plenty of room. There are sunbeds towards the one end of beach if you want them.
The sunsets over the sea are simply stunning.
A short bus ride to the port which is worth doing.

Peaceful friendly location, a shadow of its former self however green shoots for the future evident, the services that remain are perfect for a peaceful get away with a wide shallow sheltered bay that gently merges into the crystal clear blue waters. However for a more sophisticated yet more affordable experience a short walk to Achalida a smaller beach formed around a little harbour where you will find Emily’s Hotel and beach cafe a family run establishment serving great lunches snacks and drinks at reasonable prices with a warm welcome for all including non residents, it is clear why so many people return year after year. At the other end of the beach you will find a higher end restaurant that serves fine dining and a good range of cocktails and local beers.
