There were 6 of us staying at this place. And all of us had the same beautiful experience! First and foremost – the hospitality. Our host was so kind and generous. Our flight was very late, we arrived after midnight, and she really took good care of us and made excellent and tasty home-made meal that we had for the next day as well. The home is so cozy, clean, and comfortable! Thick stone walls kept it away from the heat – we barely used air conditioning. Also, the place is fully equipped, even more than our own apartments (you won’t miss a thing). The most beautiful thing is the spacious outdoor area, so even with the 6 of us, we have never felt crowded – on the contrary! We also had the possibility to use vegetables and fruits from the garden and it was the tastiest thing ever! Pool gets cleaned up every 2-3 days, there is an exterior (extra) bathroom if you are staying at the pool and do not want to enter in the haus wet. House is suitable for 8 guests, so private and secluded, with more then enough space for 3 cars. There is also equipped playground for kids (we didn’t use it, but good to know). Special shout out to Sophia & her mother! We can’t wait to stay in Mouria Country House again!! (and again, and again...)

The breakfast was incredible. There was so much choice, and the food was all really high quality. Moreover, the staff are all so polite, helpful and well-trained (some of the nicest hotel staff we've ever experienced). We were there for the hotel's last week of operation at the end of its 2024 season, so there was no dinner buffet. Instead, there was a set menu (but we could still order as much as we'd like from this), but this was still great quality. Our only wish would have been for it to include a few more traditional Greek dishes. The room was great. We were in a Verdant Room (slightly bigger than their standard rooms). We would thoroughly recommend it. The bed was super comfy and spacious, and the bathroom was great, too. The only thing that could improve it would be more hooks from which to hang clothes. The pools are amazing. We went in November, so it was a bit too chilly to swim in the outdoor pools, but the indoor pool was great - warm and relaxing but still big enough to do lengths. The gym was good - for anyone who knows how to be creative with their resistance training, the cable multi-gym they have still allows you to do a lot (this is coming from someone who has spent 10+ years working in the health & fitness space). The location is also great, as the hotel itself is very close to Rethymno (if you like walking, it takes about 40 minutes to get to the Old Town). If not, it's a 10-15 minute drive. Overall, it's a fantastic 5* hotel that we would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Crete in a bit of luxury. We will definitely return when we next visit Crete (which we will do, as there is so much to see!)

Wonderful Stay at Dea Del Porto We had a fantastic experience at Dea Del Porto! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We stayed at the hotel during our first visit to Crete off season (late March) for a week and would do it the same way again. The hotel offers generous and delicious breakfast/brunch, it's perfectly located in the old town, and our host suggested us a lot of off beat restaurants and places to visit and offered utmost attention. We even had an improvised workshop on how to prepare artichokes - everything was done to make our stay comfortable and memorable!

Place was spotless clean, very friendly staff (only one, hmm, not so good experience, very late lunch just before our departure, felt that we were trouble to our weiter - maybe she had a bad day or was busy organizing tables for evening, or she saw we were about to leave and did not bother any more). Just wonderful! Loved the atmosphere with the cute little pool in the courtyard and my bedroom was beautiful and so well designed. It was small but perfectly formed. Quality towels bathrobes slippers and a cute canvas bag with towels for beach was great! I felt so comfortable and relaxed here and will definitely return with my husband. Great kitchen for those who want to self cater and constant complimentary water coffee tea etc it would be ideal for a private group to book the rooms and have the place together with a kitchen like that and a great front living area. In all my travels I never met anyone as sweet as the cleaning lady she was adorable with a heart of gold and she works so hard and has the place gleaming! Even without English speaking we could communicate and I loved meeting her. The manager was a very nice lady with lots of information about the history of the house. I will be back! :) Oh and the bed was perfect as was the pillows and good pillows are hard to find in hotels!
