I didn’t need a car since the distance from restaurants, beach, cafes, and other work offices were a 5 minute walking. Everyone in the hotel was very helpful and willing to detail answer all my questions.

The town folk were friendly and helpful. I came a little out of season so quite a few stores and restaurants had shut down. As a result I couldn't get the full compliment of seafood(lobsters) that they usually serve in season, but I also got cheaper deals on other things, such as rental vehicles and hotel accommodation
Karpathos is a wonderful place to visit. There are lots of boat tours that take you to different beaches and the oldest village on the island. The food is amazing and the shops have lots to offer. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been and I have traveled the world.
Karpathos is an island for families and independent travellers - there are no clubs, nor loud night life, but a lot of beaches to visit (with hire car) - all different - many sandy, some with pebbles. The west coast tends to have quite rough seas with lots of opportunities to swim & surf in waves. Stunning scenery everywhere, especially as you travel up the East coast with many of the beaches in small secluded bays. Some beaches have small tavernas for refreshment & sun shades, others you need to take your own things, especially a form of sun shade as some beaches have nowhere to shelter from the sun. There are some beaches that are ideal for young families and toddlers with very shallow water, others that have large rocks to dive off and offer more excitement for older kids. There are also trails for hiking in the mountains, but in the summer months it tends to be too hot for this. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful and tourists are made to feel welcome.
Karpathos town is a good location for getting to all the good beaches on the island. It's a 30 min drive north to Apella and about 15 mins south to Votsalakia. Buy a mask as the snorkeling is great. The town itself is a base.
We enjoyed our stay in Karpathos Town. The town is small and very charming - with a nice port and many small, boutique-type shops. There are many restaurants and coffee shops there. We had our dinner in some of them and the food was very tasty, especially local dishes. People are friendly and helpful. There are a few supermarkets in the town - open 7 days a week. Also, it was easy to rent a car as there are many places that offer this service. The town beach is just a few minutes walk from the port. There are more beautiful beaches outside the town. As we enjoyed walking, we used local trekking routes to get there. Karpathos Town is a nice place to stay and relax - highly recommended!
There weren't enough buses - not even a bus to or from the airport, and taxies were expensive. We used the town as a base and travelled around. Mike's restaurant in Olaf Palme street has friendly staff and good food.
The hosts were exceptionally hospitable, they treated me as part of the family. The landlord picked me up from the airport, gave me a lift to Pigadia and back several times and he and his wife were always there for anything I needed. I had no car, but there were several buses to town and connections by bus and boat to other places from there. Kastelia beach is a 15 minute walk from the studios and Ammoopi and other beautiful beaches can also be reached by bus or on foot. There is a mini market and a restaurant near by.
Small hotel, very beautiful quite and clean. Every detail in the room seems to be thought of. Great views. Short walk/ drive from the beach and the taverns. Room was fully equipped and restocked everyday automatically. Yannis, the host, is extremely welcoming and treated us like family, assisted us with planning our trip and making sure we arrived safely to our destinations.
Great location, 10 min walking to town and port, easy free parking. The hotel underwent complete renovation, tasteful Ikea style, but pleasing. Rooms are very quite and very comfortable. All have a balcony, half have a great sea view. Small but efficient bathroom, excellent and silent air conditioning.
The apartment is big and comfortable, perfectly clean. It's located just outside the historical part of the Pigadia (2min by car), and offers a great panoramic view. The communication with the the owner is just perfect, very kind, helpful and discreet person.
Perfect apartment. Everything is new in the apartment. Zero problem. Host George is very friendly and helpful about everything. Karpathos is an exceptional island with its nature and people. If you are seeking smiles and positive vibes, this is your place.
Large room with great view overlooking the beach in Pigadia. Located a few streets away from the main strip - about a 15 minute walk to get to the harbour. Conveniently located near a large supermarket if needing to get supplies for the beach days ahead.
The apartment was clean, spacious and the view from the veranda is amazing. Way better value for money than a hotel. Very close to good restaurants and bars. Connie is just downstairs in the shop if you need help. Truly wonderful
Room size and layout, comfortable for a family of 3 (or even 2 adults - 2 children) View and orientation Location (close enough to Pigadia but just outside on the hill) Swimming pool
The accomodation is a standalone house where you can enjoy calm and relaxing night and days. It is perfectly situated to explore the island of Karpathos, a rental car is well needed.
Everything was wonderful! Minas, the hotel owner was very nice and answer to all our questions. The room was very clean, comfortable and big! The location is on the city center.
Overall breakfast was good. No freshly squeezed orange unless you pay extra. 5 star hotel and no freshly squeezed orange juice unbelievable.
The infinity pool...beachfront...local tavernas....15 min walk to Pigadia town.
