Around Paleokastritsa I found the most beautiful bays and beaches. I recommend it as a base for your stay. I saw around some bus stops, but it's better to hire a car, in my opinion. Plenty to see in the surroundings
A beautiful place with marvelous nature and unspoiled architecture. We loved Paradise Beach - you can get there by renting a boat (e.g., Michelis Boats Rental). There is a beautiful hiking trail through Lakones to Angelokastro, which we recommend. It's also worth visiting a byzantine Monastir, with its beautiful garden and small but interesting museum. We went there for Easter and enjoyed local traditions like the procession on Good Friday and fireworks at the Midnight on Good Saturday.
2 beautiful sandy beach coves and some stunning views of the mountains, woodlands and numerous hidden coves (not all easily accessible, but that’s part of the fun!) Very quiet, at this time of year (April) and not many places open as yet. However Cactus Bar (⚽️) and a couple of tavernas within walking distance gave us everything we wanted (😋) Would definitely go back 😍😎
Paleokastritsa is not like the heartful Greece you are probably used to. People here are very lazy, more greedy and less friendly. They just don't care, but try to exploit the tourists. Prices are crazy, the information you have in the internet is usually not true or there is no information at all, no one cares if you are wasting your time or if your plans are ruined. The only way you can travel to the secluded beaches is by boat (100+ euro for self-driving, and the driving a boat IS tricky no matter what they say, I drive it a lot!), or by "water taxy" (70 euro for a 20 min trip). No information about the public tours anywhere, even if there are some. TRASH EVERYWHERE. I have never seen so much trash. To eat, I chose Nereids, very nice and very Greek place, and very friendly indeed. Apollon restaurant is good too. Avoid eating in La Grotta, the food is awful there. Best evening view is in Tango bar. Best supermarket is Kathy (but still it's small and bad comparing to Corfu-town). The path from Paleokastritsa Camping to Liapades beach is awful, very dangerous, don't do it, I'm a fit 36 yo and after a rain this path was a nightmare. Snorkeling was a bit boring, but good for beginners. IMO, I would choose something else.
The swimming and snorkeling were so convenient with the beach right there. Renting a skiff and exploring along the coast was a real treat, and diving with Poseidon Dive Shop was brilliant. There are lots of great places to eat in the area and beautiful little villages to explore.
We have traveled around Corfu by car to visit different cities and beaches and I must say I liked Paleokastritsa the most! The most gorgeous beaches, nice people, great cafes and bars but not too ''touristy'' compared to Sidari for example.
Paleokastritsa
I loved staying here. It's next to all the best restaurants in town. It is a short 5 minuet walk to a few nice beaches. The main town is about a 30 minute walk. I rented a bike and it was perfect. It's easy to get to by bus if you take the green line from Corfu Town (36 mins). The owner was very helpful. The view on the balcony was breath taking. There are 2 bed rooms 1 bath. The beds are firm, the hot water is great, the wifi works better during the day then at night, the place was quiet, clean. I will definitely stay here again!
The facility was comfortable, although not luxurious. Getting to the pool and beach area was a bit awkward, but not bad. Guests have to go outside the front lobby to a fenced pool area to pick up beach towels. Then one needs to walk back and go down a considerable flight of stairs to reach a nearby beach area managed by nearby restaurants. The hotel does not have its own beach.
Paleokastritsa
We enjoyed our stay at Anthimos Rooms very much. The view was spectacular, the room was tidy and whatever we needed (beaches, supermarket, restaurants and bus stop) was very close to the accommodation. Moira was very helpful and we enjoyed a good chat with her every morning. Overall, I would strongly recommend Anthimos Rooms for a wonderful vacation in Paleokastritsa.
Paleokastritsa
The hotel was only a short walk (5 minutes) from the beach and there is a reasonable choice of restaurants nearby. For the area it is one of the more reasonably priced hotels. The location is probably a bit out of the way if staying for more that a few days without transport but there is an hourly (more or less) bus service into Corfu Town.
Nice hotel with a terrace for serving breakfasts (pretty view) or sitting at the bar by the evening and a swimming pool, convenient location - in the walking distance restaurants, bus stop, beaches, Corfu trail. Room was comfy and clean. Friendly staff and helpful. I could have a nice breakfast, which had few options to choose from.
Paleokastritsa
Located very close to Paleokastritsa's main beach; great value for money; we were allowed to check in very early, which was great for us, as we arrived on an early bus from Corfu city. Super comfortable apartment. The kitchen is equipped with a set of two cooking rings and cookware (pots, pans etc), which is a plus.
Paleokastritsa
The hosts - very kind and helpful The location - in the middle of the city but on a peaceful road away from crowds, close to beaches, reataurants and a supermarket The view - beautiful view over the bay The amenities - good enough to prepare breakfast (or a quick lunch) and coffee Overally, great quality for money.
