Our time at Azogire Traditional Houses was incredible & way beyond our expectations! We were planning to stay in Sougia but our hotel there cancelled last minute and this was the closest accommodation we could find with availability. I’m so happy that we stumbled upon Azogires and would love to return to this property. It’s a stunning 40 minute drive through the olive groves and epic mountains down to Sougia, one of our favorite beaches in Crete. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the drive each day. The room itself was impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable, and the check-in process was a breeze. The pool was a wonderful addition to our stay, and the location of the property is just unbeatable for a unique and wonderful, relaxing experience as you drive through Crete. There is a fabulous taverna serving delicious local food & perfect coffee right nextdoor, a very cute local arts and craft shop & gallery, and a beautiful uphill hiking trail where you will see horses & sheep & hear their bells ringing. The setting felt magical. It’s convenient to several attractions & popular beaches but feels more tucked away, quiet, private and peaceful since it’s such a small, beautiful village. 10/10 in every way and we would return in a heartbeat!

The hotel was really clean and the private swimming pool was a real highlight — perfect for relaxing in peace and quiet. We specifically chose this location for its calm mountain setting, and it truly delivered. At the same time, it served as a great base to explore the island, with scenic places like Paleochora and Sougia reachable in about 30 minutes, and Phalassarna Beach and Chania around 1 hour and 15 minutes away. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we enjoyed the meals at the on-site restaurant, which were of good quality.

    Wonderful property nestled in the hillside. Looking out over the mountains. Pool is refreshing after soaking up the sun on your own private sun beds. Bed very comfortable with ample space in the room to relax. The staff are incredible. Nothing was too much bother for them, very helpful with recommendations, arranging taxis and drinks.

    The room was large and a beautiful organic aesthetic. All amenities were provided. The private pool was delightful. Spa series were an expected treat. The staff could not be more charming, energetic or helpful. An incredible experience all around!

    It’s the perfect getaway if you want to just recharge, have privacy, rest and take long walks. The food is great and the staff is probably the best staff I ever encountered. The rooms are very nice, the pool is amazing and the views are very relaxing.

    I stayed with my husband on my honeymoon for a couple of nights. The staff gifted us with a bottle of Prosecco and a traditional Cretan dessert as a welcome. The room was absolutely perfect in size and design aesthetic. We had a pool and hot tub, which was great for the warmer day weather and the cooler evenings. We loved the place and didn’t want to leave! This place is truly special!
