Great location in the heart of old town Zacharo. Views over the sea and lake Kaiafas were wonderful. Rooms cleaned daily ✅ Very helpful and friendly employees. Value for money ✅ Will definitely stay here again

The location is full of olive trees and a garden in a very rural area. You need a car to get there and there is lots of free parking at the back. The room is nice but there are no restaurants or shops nearby, you have to drive at least 10 minutes to get anything. Beaches about 15 minute drive.
The beachfront Ostria Hotel Kakovatos is set on Kyparissia Gulf and offers direct access to the organized beach of Kakovatos.

A small hotel, I figure about max 40 rooms, clean and right up on the beach at the end of the road, parking in the rear of the building. The rooms are normal size, clean, bright, balcony, bathroom, plenty of places to charge equipment, and astoundingly the umbrellas on the beach have the room number so you are guaranteed a place to sit. The beach extends forever in each direction, nice sand, clean, shallow water to about 50m out, warm, a little wavy, and great for long walks. Breakfast simple but complete. Three tavernas within 1 min walk, all excellent. Village up the road 5 min walk, also excellent. Staff were smiling and helpful. This is a great little hotel in a great location, and really captures the essence of a vacation in Greece.
Hardly 656 feet away from the well known beach of Zacharo, lie the studios and apartments of Olympion Village. It offers free wireless internet.

We were totally surprised by the nice facilities for children to play in near a restaurant/bar on the property. It was a great way for the kids to get their energy out, eat a meal and enjoy a drink at the end of a long drive.

Yiannis was amazing! He welcomed us into his home with open arms. I booked a room while my two friends parked their van on the lawn. The dogs played together and we shared stories and even lunch together. We appreciate Yiannis' project and we hope you do too! My room was spacious and the bathrooms were spotless!

Zacharo is really, really Greek and there seemed to be absolutely nothing happening. I figure you have three alternatives to fill your time: swim or stare at the sea during the day, sit at a cafe and gossip at night, or get through War & Peace.

Zakharo is a small town near Kakovatos the little village where the Ostria Hotel Beach is located indeed. Zakharo is fantastic. The town's activity is between a beach town with restaurants, cafés, stores and an agricultural town with a lot of trucks and tractors crossing by. The bus station is not far from the center.
I also walked on the Beach until the Ostria Hotel. It is quite a long walk. There are a few restaurants, the sunset is amazing.

Zakharo is a small village near the coast.
Zakharo is a small village near the coast. It has all the essentials (super markets, restaurants, coffee shops etc), so one can spend his stay there without the need to move to other places. However, there are no much activities you can do with the kids, so it would be wise to pick a hotel that offers kids activities. The beach is quite nice and sandy, however if the wind is Western, the waves will be high enough to prevent you from swimming. The food was really nice in almost all the restaurants we visited and the prices quite reasonable. If I would visit the broader area again I would choose to go to a place with beaches facing South, as western winds are the most common in there and create high waves to almost all beaches.
The small village of Kakovatos is adorable. The hotel is well located in front of the sea. The people of the staff are available and agreeable. The building is new. My room had a terrace where I could seat in front of the sea. The garden is clean. The Greek breakfast is excellent. I enjoyed my stay. Thanks to everyone in this hotel. Specially to the Lady who was waiting for my arrival the first night and to Yorgos.
Don't expect a typical Booking.com place. It is a mixture of hotel, hostel and camping. All in and around Yiannis' house.
A wonderful place to relax and interact with other people at the same time. I wanted to stay two nights, but ended up staying four. Don't be afraid of the dogs, they are calm and will leave you alone.
Beautiful and extremely long beach with fine sand very close to the studio. Well maintained and clean place, all amenities available, bar open all day long. Several supermarkets only 2,5 km away in Zacharo. Strongly recommended.
Excellent! Totally recommended! This is the hotel to go to. Their motto “Home away from home” is absolutely lived here. Fabulous experience, a hidden treasure. And a spectacular breakfast with local delicacies!!!
