A very picturesque old town. You can reach everywhere on foot. For some reason this year restaurants were extremely expensive. We have been going there for several years now and have noticed the price differences this year
Korcula is one the charming islands of Croatia, very closed to Durbovnik (2 hours ferry distance) and Split (2.3 hours ferry distance) but also closed to sacreds island of Lastovo and Mljet. Old city of Korcula is so far one of the oldies and charming cities you will see on Adriatic coast. As for the island and the beaches, you should definitely check islands Badija and Vrnik. Public beach on Korcula is best city beach in Adriatic I have seen, but if you have time you should see also Lumbarda beach (best water experience), beach in Zupnicka banja and Luka Bay (Port 9).
Korcula is wonderful, so if you have a chance to visit there, go! Korcula Old Town is small, crowded but pretty. There are interesting places to visit, bell tower, Marco Polo house.. Outside old town there are view points. Good food but it is a popular place so prices can be high in Old Town area. Take a buggy tour, visit wineries, take a boat trip to islands near, visit Vela Luka.. Eat decent price cevapcici at Popina with sea view or have best burgers at Pub Nordes!!
We only visited the town as staying for two nights and didn't have a car. Two nights is ample as the town is very small, but I have no doubt you could spend much longer is you were exploring more of the island. There are a lot of nice restaurants in Korcula, some fine dining and the main street of restaurants overlooking the sea is spectacular. The two swimming spots in the town were a welcome surprise - I would recommend Beach Zakerjan where you are shaded by the high city walls, and the water is pristine. We ate at Konoba Aterina and Nonno - both highly recommended.
Beautiful island - there are 153 bays and there is a lot of apartments to hire. you should try and stay near a town as shops are limited unless yo are near Korcula town. plus most restaurants, bars etc are there. Be aware of the time to get ferries to the island. next time we may hvae hired a car & taken the car ferry as this always runs plus avoids taxis from airport to ferry, hydrafoils not running, etc..
Korcula was a beautiful stop on our European summer trip. The water is wonderful for swimming , snorkeling and boating. The historical elements are breathtaking and many choices of delicious restaurants. The old city is very walkable and quaint. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at Moro Inn. The staff were friendly, especially the receptionist who gave us lots of good recommendations and tips on navigating the island. The location of the hotel is in a weird spot but also very close to Port 9 beach and only a 25 min walk into the Old Town. The hotel was also really clean and modern (and eco)! Compared to other hotels on the island, it was a lot more economical.
Korčula
Host was extremely friendly and we had a very warm welcome even though was late check-in. The location of the apartment is great if you are with a car especially because in 5 minutes you are i Town and in half of hour you are anywhere else on Korčula. Market is 2 minutes by foot, very good restaurant Maslina in 5 minutes also!
Korčula
Great apartment for two people and the quiet outdoor patio dining area where you can eat is a bonus. The location is very good - just a few steps and about 200m from the Korcula old town gate so you're close to the action. The host gives you a small bottle of personally made red wine and it was decent!
Korčula
We were able to leave our luggage with the guesthouse as we arrived Korcula so much early before checkin time. The host was excellent and tried to get our room ready s fast as she can. The whole place was so clean and well maintained. Location close to everything in the old town.
Korčula
The hospitality from the staff was amazing, especially Nino with great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The room was really nice and the bathroom was amazing. The hotel has a perfect location right next to Korcula old town. Really tasty breakfast too.
Korčula
Great location and nice set of rooms in an old Arsenal building in Korcula's city walls. If riding in via boat, you can get to this place within minutes. Steps away from great restaurants and swimming on the rocks around the walls right around the corner.
Korčula
Charming and fully furnished apartment. Don't seek for something else, I know many of 3* hotels who doesn't provide this quality of service. Thank you, it was a pleasure to stay at your place.
Korčula
Tea was a lovely, friendly lady, who looked after us from the start. Breakfast was fantastic! The balcony we had was very large and private. The views were amazing. Korcula town is very picturesque.
Hotel is definitely the best on korcula. Location is perfect. Hotel is beautiful Nd very comfortable. Staff are the most helpful we came across in all of Croatia.
The view from the pool area is spectacular. Hotel is in a really beautiful location and wouldn’t have seen this side to Korcula if not staying here.
