Osijek was once the second city in Croatia and still has...
Osijek was once the second city in Croatia and still has evidence of that. The collection of Secessionist buildings on Europska Ave is outstanding on a European scale and it is a disgrace that this hasn't been recognised by the EU. The historic complete military township of Tvrda is also a must visit place. The surrounding Baranje area provides tastes of a country far different to Dalmatia which is what most visitors to Croatia only experience. The Kopacki Rit reserve is a great place for birdwatching including breeding White tailed Eagles and the nearby forest holds large numbers of wild boar.Guest review byAlexandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A beautiful city and wonderful people.
A beautiful city and wonderful people. From monumental buildings to beautiful nature. On both the Osijek and Baranja sides, there are plenty of restaurants where you can eat deliciously. I definitely recommend a ferry ride and a walk across the Pedestrian Bridge.Guest review byAnaCroatia - 10.0

My hometown so bit biased but Osijek and Slavonia have lot to offer. Great fiery food, excellent wine, amazing cycling routes and nice scenery. Osijek is perfect for unspoiled city break. Dirty towels get replaced every day. The breakfast was good, and we also opted to eat dinner at the hotel one evening (15 euro per person at the time of writing - Jan 2025). The dinner included soup, a main course and a dessert - the portion sizes were big and the food was absolutely delicious. The hotel also features free private parking for guests.
