Umag and Zambratija are local centres of various water sports (and tennis) It`s worth taking a stroll in the evening in the harbour area; many bars and restaurants are located there. Buy a one-day boat trip to visit Porec and Rovin (you won`t have to worry about parking your car), visit Novigrad, too. Nice spot. I can recommend the restaurant of Villa Vilola for sure and there`s a small bar nearby called Zambibar. A great place to enjoy the sunset and then a nightswimming session in the Adriatic. A small place for great holidays.
Nice small town with a historical center, I can recommend beach Polynesia, Village Rosetta, Kanegra. We visited Konoba Míšo, everyhing was perfect. A lot of supermarkets Lidl, Kaufland. Very nice Parks with Roses.
Great place for a family/sport stay. Lot of beaches types (sandy/rocky/pebbled) nearly placed and easy access to the sea. Beautiful local agricultural ancient cities - must see! (Grožnjan, Motovun, Buje, Oprtajl). Umag is a center for the rest of the other little cities - accessable shopping but very compact small city.
Umag is a lovely town. The center and the historical Old Town are very nice to explore, as is the long walkway by the sea, surrrounded by small boats, also, on the opposite side, by a park with nice greenery, trees, things like playgrounds for kids or open air gyms. It's good for long walks. Beware that restaurants in the Old Town are ridiculously expensive, even for Western criteria. For example, I had a nice piece of cake for my birthday in the Old Town and it was 50 HRK (Croatian Kunas), which is approx. 7 euros... Even in Vienna I was not charged 7 euros for a piece of cake! Croatia has pumped up its prices ridiculously. The beaches are so-so. They are OK. Nothing special. Some are concrete, some sandy, and it takes a while to get to them. Take a Fish Picnic by boat and explore nearby lovely towns of Rovinj and Porec, or go dolphin spotting. You can also rent a glass boat or rent a bike. Overall, a pleasant town. If you have rented a car, and have time, visit some other towns in Istria as well, because they are all nice.
Umag is a little gem of a town, with nice restaurants, bars, cafes and very friendly local people who are happy to interact with you in their local language, as well as Italian, German and English. The local food is just great and moderately priced. Having been there several times I always love to go back.
Small, sweet and family-friendly, everything within walking distance, the center is busy and filled with shops selling tourist supplies, cafes and bars hug the stone shoreline so you can take a dip and wander over for a beer and some local fish. We ate our lunch away from the beach at a superb little restaurant called Kaleta.
We had an excellent stay in this lovely hotel. The rooms and all other facilities very stylish and clean. I liked the bath tube a lot. The hotel has its own nice private beach with free sunbeds and mattresses, towels. It was never crowded, although other guests could also rent sunbeds for money. The bar at the beach with shower and toilet possibility is also very nice, you don't need to go up to your room. Breakfast at the beautiful terrace was also fabulous. There was free wifi even on the beach!
It is huge camp with lot of things to do (tennis court, ping pong, beach volleyball, beach bars, infinity pool, pools for children, etc.). Family/kids friendly. Houses are beautiful, with everything you need. Beaches are also beautiful, crystal clear sea. Staff was very nice, they even gave us phone number to call if we need anything. Prices inside camp were fair. It was our first vacation in camp but definitely won't be last. We are for sure coming back next year.
