In the old village part of Hollókő, an ethnographic village listed by UNESCO, Hollóköves Vendégházak offers units with traditional elements. Breakfast is served and dinner can be arranged. I really liked the atmosphere of the old town and of the accomodation. It was an amzing feeling to wake up in that little house which was decorared with old hungarian furniture. The accomodation was really tidy. People were very friendly in the area, the castle was close and there is a possibility to hike in the area. Im sure we will return to this place. :)
Kaláris Vendégház is a self-catering accommodations located in Hollókő, which is a traditional Hungarian village and a part of Word Heritage. Free WiFi access is available. The house has a very convenient location, away from the historic main street but still very easily accessible with a ~5-minute walk. It affords a beautiful view over the surrounding countryside and is in a tranquil location: even though the only large hotel in Hollókő is just opposite the house, there was minimal noise. Our room was clean and perfectly adequate with a kitchenette and even an infrared sauna. Breakfast was really good. Coffee is self-service and when we realized it had run out, we appreciated it that the hosts immediately brewed fresh coffee for us instead of just refilling the container. I did not test the wifi as there was fast 4G connection but it's available. Equipment for our baby was provided (cot, baby tub, high chair) just as we requested. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.
Featuring free WiFi and a barbecue, Toldi Vendégház offers pet-friendly accommodations in Felsőtold, located 2.8 mi from the UNESCO World Heritage Site village, Hollókő. It is a place with a very big potential. Old buildings, big garden and nice location.
Very beautiful village with castle surrounded by wonderful natural landscape. Unesco world heritage. Ideal for trekking tour in the nature. Less ideal for people used to dine out between 7 and 10 pm, since at 7 pm all restaurants are closed, with the only exception of the very expensive restaurant of Castellum Hotel! Also the opening hours of the little supermarkt are completely absurd from the perspective of tourists arriving on Friday evening and wishing to buy something after 11:30 am on a Saturday! Last but not least: Tourists who do not understand Hungarian have a hard time in Holloko!
Attractive tourist village with a castle. Unfortunately a Chinese film crew had taken it over for the weekend and you did not find out until you had climbed to the top of the hill. I expect it is normally worth the climb. So did not get the promised view over the village. There is an interesting1 walk by the stream with information on its historical use. What appears to be the best and most popular restaurant closed at about 17:30 on Saturday! The other restaurant was not impressive and that in the hotel had an expensive buffet.
Great location and well preserved/ renovated village. Super for a short getaway and for families. The restuarants all offer good food. Easy to get around and the nature trail cool. The castle is well worth the visit- though other language explanations would be good.
