Wow what a ride... It took me 25 hrs from Vancouver to get here and am so glad I made the trek. I wanted to go to Raja Ampat for photography around Piaynemo island, especially drone photography. Diving wasn't my focus, but I hoped to do a bit of snorkeling. I booked a week to allow some time for bad weather. I'm a solo traveler and will endure much to get certain photos. My plusses: Spectacular Location - Not only for my photos but also many beautiful reefs nearby by boat for snorkeling. Great Staff - It's a challenging "Gilligan's Island" sort of place and they go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Wifi - Yes it's remote but it's nice to reassure people back home and check weather etc. End of the Season solitude - It was just me for a week and that is awesome. Well-built - We endured a nasty storm strong enough to wash over the sandy spit the homestay is situated on. Budget pricing - Well, except for the boat trips, very economical. Thomas - The man in charge with serious boat skills. When it was time to leave in the middle of the storm, he got us back to the ferry in a 18foot open skiff in and amongst waves and swells much taller than our boat.

Locally owned, always ready to help and the place is brand new (february). We were the only people there and the food was always tasty. Lunchboxes were also great when we were out on trips. Of course out here it is more basic, but for what you can expect in the area it is great. One room is fully ready with one more pretty much done and another already in the works.
