Small town with great amenities. Highly recommend the self-guided walking tour of the Rock of Cashel and then walking down to Hore Abbey. Many different pubs and restaurants to choose from as well as supermarkets. Town is easy to navigate and beautiful.
Cashel is a lovely town with lots of history and wonderful restaurants to eat out. The Rock of Cashel is within walking distance of the town centre and lovely to walk around and the views are amazing.
Patrick the host is very hospitable n accommodating. His location is easy to access and overlooks the rock of Cashel. As it was Christmas Eve morning when we left Rockville, he reminded us twice to top up our car’s fuel and pack food. Although our stay was short, I was so pleased that I even shared with him a couple of small items I brought from home as a token of appreciation.
The Rock of Cashel is amazing, and the views of the surrounding countryside are impressive (the cafe beside the Rock - Granny's Kitchen - was also great). We only spent one night here but could easily have spent a bit longer exploring the area... it's a fantastic alternative to the more touristy parts of Ireland
BE SURE TO GO TO A PLACE IN TOWN FOR DINNER OR DRINKS BEFORE GOING TO "ROCK OF CASHEL" and ask for the voucher!! We went to Tj Ryans pub the night before going to the "Rock". We got a voucher for free entry of two people into the "Rock" after spending 15 euros at pub. So look for the sign advertising the voucher. This place has amazing history! Be sure to get the extra tour of the chapel, it's well worth the 3 Euros to see an amazing 13th century church that's very well preserved and restored. Take the tours and learn the history! The tour guides are very informative. It's a steep wlak to the top of the hill, so be prepared to make a steep trek!
We loved our room. Very comfortable and very clean. We would have been happy staying more nights. The breakfast was wonderful and the view of the Castle and nunnery ruins was spectacular with the morning sun! This is a charming BandB.
