This little hidden gem absolutely exceeded my expectations. Though at first the price seems high, when you think of what you would get from a travellodge or similar, then paying for extras link breakfast and drinks, there wasn't much difference for our family of four. The location is spectacular and you feel very much in the wild. We stayed for a night to break up a visit with family and as a Christmas treat and what a treat it was. The yurt is toasty warm thanks to the wood pellet stove, though the outdoor toilet in -7 degrees was a bit chilly! There were heated blankets in the beds though we ended up not needing them. The children loved the outdoor space, the fairy doors, whimsical tree house and mud kitchen. What made it so special for us was the view of the night sky, I don't think I have ever seen so many stars and to fall asleep looking at that through the skylight was so special. The hosts have supplied so many home comforts inside the yurt too, hot chocolate and teas and coffee, a box of board games, books and home made ornaments to compliment the space. The microwave and outdoor fire pit BBQ allowed us to cook a lovely meal and then breakfast was superb, continental style with eggs probably from the chickens in the coop nearby! Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY!

A perfect, little room which had everything I needed to spend a night there before walking The Wicklow Way. The contactless check-in and out worked flawlessly. There’s a little supermarket up the street, a couple of take aways and pub to cater to your food and drinks needs

Michael and Margaret were super friendly, kind and hospitable. Catered for our vegetarian needs at breakfast and didn't mind in the least when I told them that I broke the (cosmetic) knob on the shower. They gave us some great tourist tips on where to visit and sightseeing driving directions.

Right from the start, communication was easy and helpful. The house and décor were absolutely beautiful (and spotlessly clean) and the garden and views were so lovely. The bed was really comfortable. All of the little touches that the owner has made added so much to the experience, including plenty of toiletries, homemade scones and milk/wine waiting in the fridge for us. While we didn't stay long enough to make use of them, there are plenty of books and even board games for guests. I'd say it's probably the nicest accommodation I've ever stayed in and I can't wait to go back!

Yellow Heights was the perfect place for us to stay! We each had our own bedroom and bathroom. The house was fully stocked for our needs, very comfortable and extremely clean. Maura was a lovely host and even let us use her clothes dryer! I would highly recommend Yellow Heights to anyone looking for a place to stay in Knockananna.
